I've just been thinking how strange it is that recent freestyle releases haven't cross over to top 40 in over countries, last one I remember is Sonque 2 freestyle based releases. Some of you out there might not class this as freestyle but if it wasn't then what is? anyway....

Songs from other genres manage to cross over at least once, look at Country, even that has made some sort of impact abroad. Raggae makes a comeback every so often but is mainly under. Now raggae has a strong fan base & history to rely on, these artist still seem to have some sort of income from their releases, so what's going on with freestyle?

There was a rumour that Safire latest single & album was due to be released over in Europe, starting off in England, Is this still going ahead?

Last but not least, maybe freestyle music needs to include some well known samples in to the music like hip hop, R&b & Garage does? People need something to latch onto from the past. (try the 1980's -90's) Everyone is doing so why not freestyle? Include a rap or ragga chat in the middle?

Nice ideas. Well, freestyle has often included a rap during the breakdown...I'm not sure that would be of much help to include that element in most new freestyle. Nice thoughts though :O)

True...freestyle sometimes does include a rap but in most cases it's very weak in comparison to the hip hop, R&b & garage counterparts.

Very true. However, if there is one thing I don't want freestyle to "evolve" into it, it's rap/hip hop/r & b! There is more than enough of that. We don't want to "sell out" to another genre. I'd rather it not evolve if that were to be the case.
