I've realized lately that alot of people on this board have been posting up r and b ballad songs sung by freestyle artists as if these were actually freestyle. well, i'd like to set it straight and say that anything slow isnt freestyle. even if its something slow sung by a freestyle artist, it still isnt freestyle. unless its a joint that comes out like timmy t's then perhaps it is freestyle, otherwise, it isnt. now if one day youre out in a record store and there you see a compilation that says "freestyle" and its full of slow songs, 1. either the people that made this compilation are just f'ed up in the head (basically in it for the loot and dont care how they get it) or 2. they mean that theyre just slow songs sung by freestyle artists. but they are in no way, considered freestyle.

i know why do they continue with this ballad vs freestyle debate...most people consider the slow jams from a freestyle singer a freestyle ballad...so us as freestyle fans put everything a freestyle singer does into one catagory...we dont just shun one song cause it is slow...but XBklynNyCGyrlX some people just have to try to make themselves sound smart...so dont sweat it...let them have thier bone, cause they obviously are lacking something somewhere in life...with the issue between u two girls LMAO i am just happy i am not in it for ONCE!!!! hahahahahha 😀
 
Ballads are not Freestyle! Bottom Line. Timmy T's slow songs are not Freestyle, neither is Stevie B or any other Freestyle singer's slow songs Freestyle. They are just ballads. Nuff Said!

yeah, just dont say "freestyle ballads". your confusing us there. ballads are not freestyle period. timmy t has always been considered freestyle as far as i know since i was a little tyke. it can be looked upon as both a ballad and as a freestyle song. that is the only exception to the rule.
 
what i posted was not and opinion, it was a fact...

about this ballad thing, originator seems to know what he's talkin' about. it is confusing tho.....cause u say there is an exception 'Timmy T', but how bout "louder than love".

also I listen to Rap and R&B and there are A LOT of songs with slow beats and lyrics in both, but would u call it a Rap Ballad or R&B Ballad, no, it would just stay the same. just one main category.
