coincidence...or connection????

Ok......I would like honest opinions on this.......this is a "gay" topic, but I want to know if I am reading tooo much into this matter.

The Associated Press reported that Bush's press secretary, Scott McClellan, read a statement from the president that said "the sacred institute of marriage should not be redefined by a few activist judges" and that "the need for that amendment is still urgent and I renew that call today."

The above statement was read by Scott McClellan, George W. Bush's press secretary. The two of them were on their way for a presidential stop in Topeka, Kansas.

Topeka Kansas is the home of Westboro Baptist Church, which is run by Rev. Fred Phelps. This "Reverand" is the one responsible for a website called "God Hates Fags" and they have actively picketed the funerals of gay men and women who were killed in gay bashing incidents, or died of A.I.D.S.

I am NOT asking if you are for or against gay marriage.....I am asking if this statement coming from the president as he stops in Topeka Kansas is a coincidence......or something more.

Coincedence? I DON'T THINK SO. It's all about retaining the presidency he stole four years ago...watch how fast things will return to the status quo once he gets those votes...But I also believe that it's the spin doctors telling him to say that because they are scrambling to make the public believe that he doesn't have his head up his ass.
