Aim, I'm not sure you should let your supervisor know what happened.

Are you supposed to be using AIM at work? Suppose your Co-worker tells your supervisor that the IM she got was of a personal nature.....it could come back to bite you in the ass. Could make you look like you are sending out personal IMs instead of working.

I would just take this as a lesson learned, and make sure that you sign it all off once your shift is over.

chuck ur absolutely right on that one. Amy take it as a lesson learned and keep moving.

🙂

ok I must say somethingThis is just advise from someone who’s been thru hell, back and sent again a couple more times (hhahahaa). Office politics is really HELL. Now, Aim I urge you to be very careful because it looks to me like your co-worker maybe taking it against you. Don’t let that get to you—at least dont show it to her, ‘cause that’s exactly what she wants to do—damage. I’ve seen attitude before way too many times the way some coworkers try to play with your hard earned bread.

Now, I believe that office procedures in all kinds of jobs do not permit using emails like Chuck said. So don’t go to your supervisor, ‘cause maybe that’s exactly what she wants to do, so you could tell your supervisor and then you’ll still get in trouble and she walks out of it free. Besides you dont know if she already knows that the rookie called you. What if the rookie confronted her also???

Now you know she’s watching your every move—now YOU have to be careful. Let her know, that you caught her but without telling her directly. Change your password and don’t use the automatic log-in. She’ll know immediately, she’s smart enough for that.
And keep a close watchout for her, looks like she wants your job too.

Hope this helps.
