DJ Fresh you are right, there are regional differences. I know there are many freestyle artists brought up on this board by New Yorkers that no one on the West Coast has ever heard of, including me. And some artists being more popular than others in different regions so true. And words too, no one uses "frescos/frescas" over here. Even differences in California... Southern Californians are surprised when they hear "hella" which is used often in Sacramento, but for some reason not in the south. I can't see how people can get by without that word.

Martini, paulb, thats messed up but ne ways what does hella mean

but ne ways what does hella mean
You can use it like this...
"There's hella people in here"
or
"I got hella freestyle CD's!"
We use that word a lot in Northern CA.
But not in Southern CA.
Oh another example, Southern Californians, when describing highways say "The 5" or "The 101" whereas in Northern CA we just say "5" or "101" or "Highway 5" or "Highway 101"
