Damn, whatever happened to them or him/her? Who was Cibola who remixed many songs that became Freestyle or were Freestyle. Man, Cibola had the tighest mixes, especially during its peak in 1997-1998 with the rise of Booty Bass, Latin Bass, and Hard House, all undergound and all the sh*t. I swear, I love all their mixes. Just to name a few...

Crush-Love's Hold
Jocelyn Enriquez-Get into the Rhythm
Elvis Crespo-Suavamente
O.M.C.-How Bizarre
George Lamond-Without You

Anyone have any info on Cibola or more lists of songs they remixed? That would help a lot.

Also, Slammin' Sam is da sh*t. Could someone please give me the complete tracklistings of his mix cds-the ones that have nothing but Freestyle, Bass, and Hard House on it? Thanks.

how about these cibola mixes:

kumbia kings - u dont love me
brian mcknight - back at one
backstreet boys - quit playin games with my heart
cynthia - like a star

although not all freestyle songs, the cibola remixes gave it a freestyle/bass flare.........

very nice
would love to hear what cibola is up to

another good dj who used to have freestyle remixes back a ferw years ago was dj lenny bertoldo or lenny b

well basically i had meet a guy who was working with CIBOLA, and basically the main guys gettin the credit were CHARLES and STEVE CHAVEZ meanwhile it was the 3rd guy who was gettin all the work done basically. Since STEVE & CHARLES were radio guys they had the plugs and basically their remix would get airplay. It was a smart strategy it worked for quite some time. Though I must say the remixes that were done under CIBOLA were pretty darn good for a certain period of time 1997-2000. However, after 2000 the remixes started to SUCK BALLZ!

the best Cibola Mix was to Crush's "Loves Hold"...AMAZING!!!

....This was also the case for a very popular radio station in the San Francisco Bay Area! :freek

The guy I met that was working for them honestly had mad talent I heard quite a few of his tracks he did and the CIBOLA moniker had nuthin on his stuff!!!

:dpeace

Hey, do you know where I could find the Brian McKnight mix?

I have it in my personal collection on cd.

Really fast...
I think like 135 BPMS or so

I agree that "love's hold" was the best Cibola remix done. I remembder when I first heard it and knew right then that someday I will own that song even though I had no idea what it was. To keep a long story short, I found it, and I must say that this song is one of my most played songs ever. I eventually got "Anytime" Cibola mix by Brian McKnight and "back at one" Cibola mix, but I rarely play them, even though they were also some of my favorites. I also ended up getting Elvis Crespo's singles because they said "Cibola mix". I did give those quite some good play, but not as much as "music is my life" Cibola Mix by Planet Soul, but I must give it up for "toss it up" (southsyde Cibola mix) by Whiteknight because up to this day I still play that. I was also wondering what happened to Cibola. I think it was somewhat better than Johnny Budz remixes at that time.

I forgot to mention George Lamond "without you" cibola mix, which was one of the best remixes on his c.d., but CIBOLA was not only dance music, it was also R&B remixes with a r&b beat, kind of like Nu Flava's single. I don't remember the name of that song though.
