I try to have my daughter see her mother as much as possible, but her mother keeps confusing my daughter. She tries to turn my daughter against me by putting negative things in her head. Since my situation is revolved around the courts, I have to go through them to make the adjustments. My daughter has visitation with her mom only once a week. Now I'm seeking for supervised visits which is going to be 1 hr a week. I could have asked for no visits, but I'm looking out for my daughter. When she gets older, I will explain to her, w/out bashing her mom, the reasons why things are the way they they are. Hopefully, her mother will grow up too. :crap

That's amazing. I'm glad to hear. A lot of the kids with ADHD, ADD, etc. usually have to take so many different kinds of medications before they find the right one/s that actually do work. I saw a case not too long ago where the poor child was on like 6 or 7 types of medication and it really disturbed me. I have always questioned the usage of these drugs with such young, gradually-growing minds. This isn't the case for everyone, but I just feel like there should be an alternative to these drugs. I'm curious to know what the long-term effects are.

WE HAVE MESSED AROUND WITH THE DOSAGE ALOT THOUGH... NOT THE MEDS.
MY SON WAS DIAGNOSED AT THE AGE 3. I DIDNT PUT HIM ON MEDS UP UNTIL A YEAR AGO.SO IMAGINE WHAT A RELIEF EVERYONE IS GETTING, INCLUDING HIM.
WELL THE LONG TERM EFFECTS ARE LIKE THIS, HE WILL ALWAYS HAVE ADHD. EVEN UP UNTIL HE IS AN ADULT. HE HAS LOST SOME WEIGHT, NOT TOO MUCH, AND SOMETIMES CAN NOT GO TO SLEEP VERY GOOD AND DRY MOUTH. NOTHING TO SERIOUS THAT I CANT HANDLE.I HAVE TRIED TO CHANGE THE DIET, THE COLOR SCHEME AND EVEN HERBAL MEDS. NOTHING WORKED. HE ALSO HAS A MILD CASE OF TOURETTE SYNDROM AS WELL. THATS NOT TO BAD!

well, he does have visitation rights through the courts but i don't feel that i should be forcing her on him...he had her for a week last x-mas and i found out that he was letting her walk around the neighborhood at night with some older little girls and that she almost got into a fight with some other girls from that neighborhood and i found out that he was smoking weed in fron of her...i reported that to the authorites and to the courts and they told me that i would have to hire a lawyer to change visitation...but either way he has not tried to enforce his visitation rights since then so i've left it alone...however he is not paying child support either but i don't care...i don't want my daughter around that environment that he feels he can expose her too...i've kept my daughter protected from all of that and i've put myself through school and i got my degree to be a positive role model for her....he apparently doesn't care what she will grow up thinking about him.....i just think that it might be better if he's out of her life completely...and he tried to tell her that it was me that was keeping him from her...which is lies...anyway, he's a very negative influence and i don't want her around that.

I don't know what the laws are in NY, but I think you do not need a lawyer for certain family matters. You can go to the clerks office and motion to modify. This will allow you to have a hearing to change the previous order and ask for child support. If you guys can not come to an agreement, then you will have to go in front of a judge. The judge will most likely favor on your behalf. In my opinion, If a parent does not make effort to be with their child, then hit em up for everything because it is npt easy to raise a child.

I'm from Texas and it seems you need a lawyer for everything out here...but i'll look into it a little more and see what i can do....thanks.

Sorry, I don't know why I asumed you were from NY. But yeah, look into that.
