It's another edition of Childhood radio. Today it's little Debbie Gibson. before britney, X-Tina, mandy, Jessica. There was Debbie Gibson. In the late 80's, she was the queen of Teen pop. Now at 34?, (now) Debroah Gibson is a Broadway Star now. Here are some Debbie Tracks.

Only In MY Dreams

Foolish Beat

Lost In Your Eyes

lol I used to have that perfume too...it was so sweet smelling lol

I love a lot of her songs...in my opinion, she was truly talented..she wrote her own music and played the piano.

My fave songs from her are:
Foolish Beat
Shake Your Love
Only In My Dreams
Out of the Blue
Electric Youth
No More Rhyme
Lost In Your Eyes
Play The Field
Anything Is Possible

I just saw the video for Shake Your Love after God knows how long....time just stopped for me when I hear those songs from that time period. Good times, good times.

shake your love
Lost in your eyes
Only in my dreams

I remember the Debbie vs Tiffany arguments. I was a staunch Debbie supporter.
Don't get me wrong; I liked Tiffany. But she couldn't hold a candle to Debbie!

Debbie wrote her own songs, co-produced them, was an accomplished piano player, and had a very good voice. She had at least 9 or 10 big hits.

Tiffany was a non-talent with a marginal voice, who had just 2 hits.

No Contest!

I think both Debbie and Tiffany were talented in their own right and had very different vocal styles. And they were better teen idols to have than most of the so-called singers out there today.

I left out one other Debbie song that I love:
Staying Together

Man oh man, now there's a name I haven't heard in a while. I remember seeing her perform a free concert at the OLD Riverside Park in Agawam, MA (Now called Six Flags). She put on a great show. I miss the shows there.....they were great!!! I remember seeing Sa-fire w/Dino, Sweet Sensation, Expose, Boyz II Men w/Montel Jordan, The System, and I'm sure there's a few more that I just can't think of right now since it was back in the 80's early 90's that these concerts took place.....ahhhh....Memories.🙂

Debbie has more class than Britney or Christina ever will. She always remained true to herself and never tried to be something she wasnt.

My fave song by her was "Foolish Beat" and actually I was just thinking about that song the other day when my cousin and I were going through a bunch of cassettes she had in storage. Anyway back then when I used to listen to that song I never really gave much thought to the lyrics and their meaning, prolly cause I was really young, but when I heard the other day, I was like dayummmm at how true to life and how close to home those lyrics hit.

Debbie and Tiffany

I was a HUGE fan of these girls. Back in the day, they were 2 of the biggest stars in the world. Can you believe that Tiffany has a 12 year old son and just got remarried??? Where have the years gone. It seems like yesterday, we saw her on MTV with big hair and her jean jacket.

I met Tiffany last year and she is the sweetest thing in the world. She is still performing in clubs across the country. I think she's in England right now. Tiffany still sings her old songs, but they are more rocked up instead of the pop style of the 80s.
