Hi, everyone!
Yes, there was a "Club Kids Freestyle" broadcast this afternoon on Chicago's WLUW (88.7 FM) and www.wluw.org . It's also distressing to note that back in February, the show was cut down to a 60 minute show, which just about eliminated the mix segment, and limited the interview possibilities.
This afternoon, I was able to play new cuts from Ayna and Aby, thanks to Miss Ayna who mailed the CDs and made me feel pretty special. We also had time for some George Lamond (who will be in town on the 12th) and a bit of Lil Suzy and Brenda K. Starr.
I'll tell you, an hour goes by much too fast. The good news is that the Ayna and Aby cuts are killer. The kids (five of them, aged 10 to 14) liked the songs and got a kick out of having an exclusive-over the guys at B96. They even went into www.aynamusic.com and reviewed the website-which they also liked. Especially Ayna's fashion statements.
Unfortunately, we'll have to wait until the new month to devote another program, but in the meanwhile my sneaky self will squeeze in a freestyle gem or two per show. I'll also book interviews during the other week's in order to spread the joy.
They may have slowed us down, but they haven't stopped us.
