Greetings, all!

It's been a couple of weeks since my last update, but my summer work hours have kicked in, and the hot weather makes me want to sleep in early. I have also been busy with other projects of late, but here goes the update...

June 8th, 2001:

As always, Tony "Boom Boom" Badea's mix at six. FreestyleKitty checked in early to say "Bring It On" and to compliment Tony's mix. After the mix we heard "La Isla Bonita" by Corrine, Icy Blu's "Birthday Song" (dedicated to Felix The Cat from FreestyleKitty), and a back to back Nyasia attack with the ballad and Freestyle versions of "Now and Forever" again dedicated to Felix from Kitty. Since the on air discussion turned to the "doghouse", I had to play "Do The Dog" by MC House.

The 7am hour started with a request for "Thief Of Hearts" by Cynthia, Legacy..."Girls Do It Just For Fun", Exo withg "Silent Kiss", Alisha (by request for Tim) with "All Nite Passion", Cynthia..."Save Your Love For Me", George Lamond with "Just In Time" and Rockell with "What You Did To Me". After some entertaining news, I played Nas-T-Boyz..."The Search" and White Knight with "Toss It Up".

At 8am, I played part one of my latest interview with George Lamond. We talked about some Freestyle memories and his greatest hits CD. As well as his salsa ventures. I really have to start posting transcripts. During the interview, I played "Without You", "Que Te Vas", "Baby I Believe In You", and "Si Tu No Estas". Of course I promoted his upcoming Chicago shows.

After the interview, I played...Carol Lynn Townes..."99 1/2" (requested by Tim, who wants the youngsters to know about the roots of the Freestyle movement), John Tapia..."My One and Only", Chip E..."If You Only Knew" (for Paresh) and Latin Nation with "Nunca".

The following listeners checked in via the phones and the internet...

FreestyleKitty, Feix The Cat, Greg K, JackG, Rogerem, Boriqua Mujer, doos, and Tim.

Now let's talk about the show dated Friday, June 15th, 2001..."Wake Up Dancing" as broadcast on WLUW (88.7 FM) in Chicago and webcast on www.wluw.org or www.shoutcast.com...

Checking in on the 15th were FreestyleKitty, Kenny Guido, Paresh, Juan, Tim and Ericka. This is what they listened to...at 6am another one of Tony "Boom Boom" Badea's Freestyle mixes. Taht was follwed by Tony's 1992 George Lamond Medley and Dino Latino's "Bon Bon". As you may have guessed, this show was dominated by the anticipation George and Dino's Fiestas Patronales and Chromium weekend performances. After Dino, I played Joey Kidd's "Counting Te Days" as I spoke of the days when he was a Loose Touch Dancer and member of the C & C Music Factory. After Joey Kidd was Lissette Melendez with "Time Passes By".

At 7am, I played a back to back Freestyle Jam Attack by request...TKA with "Your Are The One For Me" and "Maria", which led me to wonder..."What If West Side Story" was recast using Freestyle artists?...Hmmm...

We then played "Jack Your Body" by JM Silk, Rochelle ..."Nene". I gave an update on Rochelle's whereabouts (Florida with husband and child, no music deal). Then it was George Lamond..."Jurare Querete", Dino Latino..."Me Nena", more concert promotion, Savour..."Where Do I Belong?", Cynthia's ballad..."Holding On" and Donna Williams with George Lamond and Joey Kidd singing backup on "True Love Never Dies".

At 8am, part two of my conversation with Mr. Lamond during which I played "Without You", "Que Te Vas", "More Than Words Can Say" and "Look Into My Eyes". There was a request for "Love's Contagious", bit I didn't pack it!

After the interview, I played Nick Colon..."Release Me", Safire..."You Said That You Loved Me", Corina with "Summertime" and Charlie Babie's remix of "Survivor" by Destiny's Child.

It's Wednesday nite at about 7:40pm. Let me get going to plan this Friday's show. Post your requests, dedications, etc.

Thanks for your patience...Harv Roman
