Im from the Chi. And love freestyle.
I know most Freestyle is played in the Chi. and i belive freestyle was born in the Chi. alot of people say New York? Which one or is it that "Freestyle" started in NY and "House" started in Chi. did freestyle start in NY and CHITOWN made it popular with the House beat am i right??????????????????

Freestyle started on the streets of the Bronx and Spanish Harlem. House started on the streets of Chicago. Freestyle and House have nothing to do with eachother. Freestyle comes from hip hop (electro/breakdancing). Freestyle over hard house beats is a Chicago thing only, started by Chicago djs. Most freestyle artsists are Puerto Rican from New York or New Jersey.
 
U heard Chicago house beats with Freestyle.It's Cool.
But now when they play house music its all like Techno. Non of that classic old school stuff. I Still like it though. But its all good i still got luv 4 the Chi's Music.
 
freestyle was only mixed with hard house here in chicago? I made a cd called hardbangin classics vs. freestyle a while ago but no one makes cd's like that anymore. Dj Payback Garcia started that in the mid 90's with cruzin sounds
 
House over Freestyle was great in the early 90's, I lived in Chicago during that time and it was great, after awhile it got played out, and DJ's were thowing everything they could with free acapella's. Another good question is, who put better freestyle out Chicago or New York, I have to say Chicago they had , LAW, FIRST CLASS, DE LA MOR, LEGACY, ROBERT M. , ISAAC, DOVE, MARIA , INNEFECT, HITMEN, JUST TO NAME A FEW. Lets start a new thread, Chicago ro New York?
