the dream again...nightmare rather relived almost everynight....mr x in another life time was a cia operative,,in a branch that "did not officially exist".even the president of the united states was unaware of this division..which was called into action when certain political issues where to be handled( AKA assaination team)..his own family and freinds thought he was just a software specialist for government classified computer systems..a front..they used to make fun and say "ooooooh your a secret agent..a spook" and laugh..and he would laugh too..and think ..your right..you dont know how right you are...he always carried the guilt around..that he was a man his own family didnt truly know..the night of his son luis 12th birthday he had gotten off early..and was waiting in a resturant for his wife and son and daughter danille who was six to celebrate...to surprise luis.to celebrate his birthday and attaining his black belt in taekwondo the week before..so he was relaxing having a glass of wine and waiting..it would be a great evening..he was off assignment..on vacation after being in afgahnistan for a week..search and destroy mission of some taliban members who where never mentioned in any news article or on cnn..way before the towers collapsed at ground zero.. when the taliban where only known by those in "the biz"when no one knew who osama was.... while his family thought he was in los angeles attending a computer convention.1991..he had not seen them in eight days..and wanted to make things up because luis was upset he was not there for the promotional ceremony..it was 7:15 they were late...he called his wife sophias cell and got the voicemail..dam he thought she must have the dam thing off again..the reason i got it is so that i can be in touch.. eight blocks away..sophia luis and danielle where making thier way in a pathfinder ..luis had the cd player up and his mother kept telling him to turn it down ..ll cool jay was playing "im gonna knock you out.. momma said knock you out" luis was jokingly pointing at his mother .danielle chanting "go luis its your birthday..go luis its youre birthday!!".."mom what you gonna do? knock me out?luis said....sophia said .."you may have a black belt now..but i have a black belt in the art of chancletta..and danielle.I told you to sit back and put youre seat belt on!!turn it down luis!! they all laughed ..danielles last words where "okay mommy ill put the stupid thing on but it chokes me"..and then an explosion rocked the SUV..a dark van speeding in from a cross street..with no lights hit thier SUV with such force it cut it in two..they all died laughing together without knowing what had happened..the van stopped for a second..went in reverse screeching tires..made a left and raced into the night..shaken witnesses later told police it had a massive front grill bar and was barely scratched..nobody could see the driver because the windows were darkly tinted..a second later the suv or what was left of it burst into a fireball... the x man .Xavier romero in that life..waited until 8:00pm then went home thinking ..what the hell had happened that his family had not arrived yet..when he got home he tried the cell again..he was angry and would ask his wife what the hell he got her the cell for?? at 8:20 he heard a car pull in the drive way..looked out the window and saw a police curiser instead of the pathfinder..two policeman got out and walked towards the door..he thought WTF is this about? but he was a master of reading facial expressions and knew before the poiceman made it to the door what they where about to tell him..he in a flash saw moments in his life..his first days dating sophia...his wedding day..the birth of luis and danille....he screamed NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! and passed out...the policeman found him sprawled by the door..the last thing xavier remembered before slipping into a coma that would last two months was the men asking him.."mr romero are you okay..sir can you hear us?? mr romero?" he jumped up straight in his bed..sweating..breathing hard..trying to remember where he was..hoping he would be home and his wife was lying besides him as luis and danny were asleep in thier rooms upstairs..and then the name "marisol" but who was "marisol"?? he could not remember..but he realized he was in another motel room..again by himself with nothing but the company of the nightmare again..and he was a different person..xavier had died that day as well..he was the xman...the cell phone rang and in his confusion he pulled a gun quickly and aimed it at the phone instinctively..then caught his bearings put the gun on safety and answered it.."hello"? oh its you..give me a second"..he poured himself a shot of bacardi .."wtf do you want?"

yo freckles!! detective torres called out across the office..we got padre hole in head.. i mean the holy guys phone records..detective rosario gave him a look as if "thats a bad joke"..torres says "im sorry couldnt resist..we traced it to some queen of the night establishment..what do you think the father was doing calling there asking them to repent? or fashion tips?"..freckles says..youve got no taste in your jokes torres.but i think youre jokes are the only thing that keeps me from hitting the bottle again..lets go see who last talked to the padre..before he left to see his boss..its the only thing weve got...have you ever heard of the X man? *Carlos grabs a knife and hides it in his jacket*

"Ok mr "X-Man", if I see ya, at least I can defend myself. Ever dealt with an angry fag before? You just may tonight!"

*Carlos then puts on a blessed golden crucifix and puts a small vial of Holy Water in his jacket pocket*

"OK Theresa Nomechaves, you may think your secret is still unknown, but I've seen how you only come out at night, avoiding the sunlight. I never said anything, who wants an angry vampire on their back? But if you mess with me or Antonio, you'll end up a pile of ash!"

*Carlos grabs a cd and gets into his car....as he drives away, the music pumps from the speakers........"and here we are, the begining of the end........"*

carlos makes a right on fifh ave when he notices an unmarked on his tail..as the driver puts the flashers on carlos says "shit what did i do now?"as he pulls over.. but as the men get out of the car he knows they are detectives..not traffic cops trying to make a quota...freckles leans over and says "carlos you wanna turn that shit down..we need to ask you some questions..you need to come downtown with us"..carlos says "i didnt do anything,,whats this about??"...torres says.."yeah okay mother theresa..get your ass out of the car!!!" then pulls him out of the car through the window..and carlos falls to the pavement..'you mother f**ker' he screams..torres grabs him up by the jacket ..pats him down..finds the knife ..torres..says "heeeeyyy what do we have here? mr pedro navaja..let me guess you shave with this..being the tough guy you are..and whats this bottle..some perfume??.as torres lifts carlos in the air by the jacket.."dont you say another fuking word..freckles interjects.."easy torres"..we need to talk to you...they put carlos in the back of the unmarked..then sped away.. no one realizing the dark man in a sedan..passing by them

*At the station, Carlos is fighting with the dectectives*

"You don't understand.....my friend's life is in danger! You have to let me go!"

(Torres) "We don't give a damn about the shyt you are goin' through right now.....or why you had that knife and the overnight bag in your car! You're gonna answer our questions....what do you know about the X-Man?"

(Carlos) "All I know is that he's some kind of hit man, and he's after my friend Antonino! I was on my way to help him when you pulled me over for nothing!"

(Freckles) "Hit man, huh? Same guy that just killed a priest at "Our Lady of Suspicious Conception church?"

(Carlos) "Fr. Roman Hands???? Fr. Roman Hands is dead?" Ay Dios Mio!!......I don't feel well, can I go to the bathroom?"

(Torres) "Yeah, right! We're not through with you yet!"

(Carlos) "Please? Be honest, you have no reason to hold me, no warrents, no unpaid tickets or fines, I just want to use the bathroom!"

(Torres whispers to Freckles) "he's right, he's got no record at all...let him go to the crapper."

(Freckles) "Ok, go ahead."

(the detectives are sooo busy trying to figure out how to hold Carlos, they don't notice him grab his bag and slip into the ladies room. As they begin to search for Carlos, "Chiquita" walks out of the ladies room, and out of the police station. A quick change under the cover of shadows lets "Chiquita" become Carlos Alamante Delhombres again, and he runs back to his deserted car)

"I can't believe they not only delayed me, but threw away my weapon for Tereas Nomechave!!! I have to stop at church and get a new bottle, and then I'm off again!"
