'Cabbie' nabbed in rapes of clubgoers

A cool-headed exotic dancer and another woman led cops to a serial rapist who posed as a cab driver and targeted women leaving a trendy Manhattan club, police sources said Sunday.
The repeated attacks had sent chills among patrons of The Box, an ultra-exclusive nightspot on the lower East Side.
The case was cracked early Sunday when a dancer at Scores was sexually assaulted about 4 a.m. after she got into a Lincoln Town Car she thought was a livery cab.
She managed to fight off her attacker and write down the car's license plate, sources said.
About an hour later, the same driver raped another woman after picking her up along with two of her friends at 10th Ave. near 28th St. in Manhattan, sources said.
He dropped off her friends and then attacked the young woman.
She later also reported the plate number, which was not a livery-cab license plate, sources said.
Investigators picked up the suspect late Sunday, and he admitted to sexually assaulting the Scores dancer, though he denied raping the other woman, sources said.
He also confessed to abducting, robbing and raping two women who had just left The Box, which is on Chrystie St., on separate occasions in September and October 2007, a source said. Cops were conducting lineups last night and expected to bring charges against the unnamed suspect Monday.
