Here's one I wrote .....and ENJOY and tell me what you think!
I was walking through the woods
Not looking for anything
When I see a caterpillar crawling
on the ground
Where is your cocoon little one I wonder?
Why not become a butterfly?
I finally pick up the caterpillar
I try to keep it warm
Make it feel safe and comfortable
in my hands
However a cold breeze picks up
It tries to crawl away
I wonder once again
Why no Butterfly?
It looks up at me and say
"Because I am not ready to have wings"
I do not agree because it looks ready to me
Can I argue with the caterpillar?
Not if that is the way it feels
So I place it on the ground
Where I found it
Still not understandy why
Why not become a butterfly,
When given the chance
I will never understand
As it slowly crawls away
I become sad
I knew that I could help it
become a butterfly
But it wanted no help
So I had to let it go
-dedicated to Bill.....Hope he spreads his wings and fly like a butterfly but know I am here if he needs someone to fly alongside with him 🙂
