This is not too much to ask for from a freestyle brand like Brenda K Starr. So include the accapellas at least and good luck with the new crowd at retail.
 
I think this thread is in the right place, being that she was A "freestyle" Artist once. Thank you Carlitos for giving us the information. I understand that some of you want to hear freestyle on these new albums, but ce la vie, you know? many times they will go in different directions, sometimes it will work out for the artists ex(India, Marc Anthony) and sometimes it won't. I wish them all good luck it's not easy no matter what road they choose to go down.
 
I Think Brenda Is A Great Artist No Matter What She Puts Out. About 2 Yeaes Ago She Came Out With A Trance/house Song Called "hold Me" And It Was Off The Hook. If Someone Is A Fan They Will Support Her No Matter What. Just My Opinion. I Know Im Definitely Gonna Check Out The New Album.

"Hold Me" was/is a GREAT song. It is in my HouseStyle Cd.
Naya, I think this is the one ya loved on my cd.

Not to get into this, but, just remember that she was a Freestyle artist.
She has moved on and should support her.

Hell yeah "Hold ME" is off the Hook , I love that song. your right Martin that 's the one on your house cd that I kept playing over and over and over and over andover!..LOL
 
Let's quit giving attention to artists that haven't done anything lately to justify it. Yeah, she's a sell out, but not because of her doing salsa. It's when they do English music and still don't do freestyle. That's why she's a sell out. No, I don't want an accapella or a freestylish remix. Freestyle is too good to have to depend on that. Let these sell outs fade off into the distance. Let the house and jazz people talk about them.
 
I have the cd & like some of the tracks, songs are long 7 minutes & more,definitly a vinyl 12 inch collectors dream of some good dance tracks.I feel it is ok to mention her album here, because I mentioned it a month ago in this same column and she is a FREESTYLE legend and there are always fans who want to know new info on their favorite atists like BRENDA K .STARR.
 
speaking of brenda k starr, i think i saw on a show like Entertainment Tonight a few years back that she introduced Mariah Carey, a friend of hers at the time, to the then head of Sony Music and the rest is history with Mariah.
 
Why do people feel that recording artists owe us something? They are doing what they do: sing! What they choose to sing is up to them, the producers and the record label they are signed to. Everyone's trying to make a living and contrary to what most people think, very few recording artists make enough money over a long period of time to support themselves and their families. We all have bills to pay.

Yeah, Ivan, VERY well said. Lex, def. get a copy. If you are a real fan (which I agree you are), you will def. not be disappointed. It's just something totally different, and to see an artist who is well known for her Freestyle and Latin roots achieve at anything thing she does, I totally have to give her credit. Same goes for India.
