Last night, ESPN aired a Mock trial putting The NY Yankees on trial for their big spending on free agents and star players. The debate was is their big spending hurting Baseball? The argument is; With The Yankees having a $200 Million payroll keeping small market teams like The KC Royals and Pitt. Pirates from ever succeding. The opposing argument is, Teams like crosstown Mets, Phillies, Cubs and Dodgers spend over $100 million and they stink everyear. Also, they Yankess were beaten in the last 3 post seasons by small market teams like The Diamondbacks, The Angels and Marlins. The ruling was, The Yankees are not hurting Baseball with their big Spending.

Do you guys Think The Yankees are Hurting Baseball with The big Spending?

OK

Hey, I'm not big into The Yankees. But hey, Big George do want to win, he gets the good players. It does not always guarentee a World Series. Boston has a good chance of getting big players, but sadly, they are The Red Sox. The A's are always in the playoffs and they hardly have any money.

I don't think the Yankees should be condemned because Steinbrenner has THAT MUCH money to invest in his team than what other team owners have! Pleeeeeaaaaaaasssssssseeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!! They better come up with something that makes sense!

The Yankees can do whatever they want. The owner wants to win and he'll pay the big bucks to do it. It won't work every year but you can't say George doesn't want to win. The other owners need to stop whining and crying and pay up if the want to be more successful. Every year during the winter meetings the owners get together and keep the very same system they complain about to stay in place. So my answer is no. The Yankees spending isn't hurting baseball.

i dont see anything wrong with what the yankees are doing i wish the phillies would spend money on good players inseted of a new ballpark because its not were u play its who is on the feild that plays and the phillies will end up the same team like the vet days no ring .

AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Like The Mets, they need to spend money on quality players instead of guys who are way past their prime. You too Dodgers, looks at your redheades step child in The OC(The Angels) they are just starting to spend money, and are spending it on good, quality players like Vlad Guerreo, Garret Anderson and Tim Salmon(who was there since his rookie year:1992)
