It's sad to see that we Latinos Love Gossip stories more than success stories.

Instead of being postive about those coming up, we look for them to make mistakes. Everyone has dirty. It's a shame that those fortunate enough to be in the lime light are deem as GODS, who can make no errors.

I'm an old skool Freestyle fan and was truly sad to see the era end. Now it's back and I only wish the best for those still in the game. Especially you Nyasia, You've always been one of my favorite freestyle Divas.

To all those up coming artist and those returning, I wish you all the best.

Hey, everyones so against Bashing, yet I'm feeling as though I am being bashed by the entire CF. All I did was give my opinion and also get some interesting dialog going. Hey Nyasha, didn't I tell you my bluntness has always gotten me into trouble. I think whats turning my idea negative is nothing other than the word we are using "BASHING" that truly isn't what I am suggesting.

Lisa we are all here to learn and grow as people Freestyley speaking =). Some of the Lengthy replies we got are from people who are in the business and are giving us to the point answers. If you go to the Sal section of the Forum, I had asked him a few question about the Business, and he told it straight from the heart and the mind. This is one of the reasons I am here, I want to learn from the people who listen and support Freestyle with love, and artists and staff that make and create freestyle with their talents. With this thread I learned some new things and also give me opportunity to think and see what else I need to learn.

If you take back away from the some of the firm comments, and read whats between the lines, every thing did make sense.


Ohhh in the early 90's George Lamond and Brenda K Starr performed a duet at the Late night at the Apollo, Honestly, when I was watching me TV, I was shocked cause I really didn't know how the crowd would respond. As they first was announced, there was some clapping and silence, but as both of these artist started doing their thing, the crowd applauded in the middle of the performance and when the performance ended they cheered with alot of respect and appreciation for the talents of Brenda K Starr and George Lamond. Oh they also sang a ballet. It was awesome, I wished I had taped it. =)
 
I would love to see a book on BOTH the positive & negative sides of Freestyle from it's history in the very beginning to its rise & fall.
Along with a section full of photos of the artists who made a name for themselves, as well as bio's, rumours, gossip, & backround info on the artist & buisness.

For example, have some of the info on the history of MicMac Records, groups like Expose' TKA, etc, - break-ups, fights, new members, stories behind the songs, producers, contracts, etc.

Just an all-around interesting & informative book with photos that would be considered like a Freestyle Bible or something.
Kinda like those "Billboard" music history books. - (Which most do have pics & kool info on Freestyle's big-name artists).

I Think it would be kool. Dont you guys?

OH, LISA Santana,
besides George L & Brenda K, other Freestyle artists have gotten grand applause at the Apollo as well. Including Sweet Sensation, Lisette Melendez, & a few others.

FOR YEARS I WENT ON DEFENDING FREESTYLE, AND FOR YEARS TO COME I WILL AS WELL, THERE ARE A LOT OF PEOPLE OUT THERE THAT DON'T REALIZE WHAT THIS MUISC DID FOR US...FOR ME IT WAS THE THRILL OF HEARING A SONG AND SEARCHING FOR IT, AND THAT SONG BECOMING PART OF THE SOUNDTRACK OF MY LIFE..ALSO I REMEMBER WHEN GLENN FRISCIA DROPPED WHO'S GOT YOU LOVE I WENT CRAZY I WENT AS FAR AS TO CALLING HIM AT THE CLUB HE WAS AT.LIKE WISE FOR A LOT OF THE SONGS IN THE 80'S.
 
I don't know, to be honest I would probably be one of the giulty fans that buys the book LOL Sorry. But I tell you what.. I would be more inclined to buy any of the artist memoirs, or auto-biography. For alot of us fans.. Things within that inner circle have always been a mistery everyone has there own story about there lives and experiences. I think it would be awesome to read some of the artist full blown hard cover biographie-- Nya's for sho, Safire's, TKA etc.. I would love to come into that world for a great hard cover experience.. Bring it on people.. and in the back you could include catalogs for the new material..
