In NYC handling my biz!!!!
The Day after Thanksgiving is National Shopping Day or something like that. Like the store "BestBuy" calls that day after Thanksgiving "Black Friday". They have a sale where you get like 50-70% off of everything. The stores open at 6am to the public. I think I'm going to see if I can get my digi camera. :biggrin My son works in Best Buy and he said people can get big screen T.V.s and plasmas for 1/2 price. That is awesome. I had never heard of this before but now with my son working there I know. So if I have to be there at 6am, I will.

Anybody else ever heard about this?

yes black friday is the worst day of the year for me not to mention the christmas season in gerneral while the rest of you are out decorating trees and christmas caroling im working 70 hours a week the most wonderful time of the year my ass..the most wonderful time of the year for me is january 31st when i get my december commision check!!

black friday will be an 18 hour workday for me this year..the only thing that will make me keep focus is on the car i plan to buy early spring infinity Q35!!! yeah baby yeah!!!
 
I usually work the day after thanksgiving but I might be off this year....... I'm gonna stay the hell away from stores regardless.......... :heee
 
i did that black friday thing at toys r us

and it was a waste of my time

my friend and i stood outside at 3am for 3 hrs in the freezing cold, just to be the first in there...we got in there got out stuff

a little while later i went back and everything i got was at the same price, nothing special at all...UGH!!!

maybe i will try best buy this year...i need a dvd player
 
my sister works at Walmart. she said they have a thing called Bliss the day after Thanksgiving, were all electrioncs are like 70% off. and people beat the shit outta eachother and shit

I like Walmart. But for me to go, I have to go to Long Island and I live in Manhattan. So I usually wait to go there when I'm going to visit my mom.

I know that all the stores have different names for that particular Friday. :lol
 
The Black Friday is termed because that is the official start of the shopping season and also the final business accounting quarter. During this Quarter all business should be falling in the "Black and out of ther red zone. Profits need to be made. Stock Markets weigh heavy about futures and earnings on a company from how they faired during this quarter. I also sets up the companys out look for the following year for ananlysts. Black friday is the most important day in retail. Greenspan will probably cut interest the day before so people will shop more to boost the economy
 
In Canada the say after Christmas in known as "Boxing Day" and it's a holiday to all except those in retail cuz it's better known as "shopping day" lol and this is the day that you can get everything at like give-a-way prices 😀...so I guess it's similar to the day after Thanksgiving in the US
 
awww if i start at target am going to work that day awww i hope it goes good that day then if i work on black friday ....
 
the more "pc" name they use is

"GREEN FRIDAY" now!

Ive been going out on this day every year for the past 6 years. I get the best deals when it comes to my STAR WARS stuff!!!!

Yvette, lemme know if your coming to long island that day!!

I HATE shopping..... the only stores that I like are Walmart & Target...... hey LaBetty theres a walmart in NJ on route9 which would prob be easy for u to get to..... 🙂

Kenny, I probably won't be going to Long Island on that day because I'm actually spending Thanksgiving in Long Island at my mom's but heading home that evening. Then we'll stay up and head down to BestBuy where my son works down at Chelsea to make the crazy line. I want to get something from in there. Even if it's one thing. :lol I love Walmart though. Wish there was one here in Manhattan already.
