The Gay Lord of Freestyle
In this week's Billboard magazine, Rockell's single "What U Did 2 Me" (after falling from 38 to 48) rebounds back up the chart to #45. It's on the DANCE MUSIC MAXI SINGLE SALES TOP 50.
Also, there is a review of a NEW freestyle single. I'm typing it here, word for word, with a credit to the auhtor.
KromOzone Project featuring Randy Lance
"Luv With U"
written by Eric Aiese
Randy Lance has truly become a Renaissance man for dance music. For this, the latest single from his KromOzone Project's full-length set, LOVE & ENERGY, he wears hats as producer, writer, remixer, and sole vocalist. The Project's underrated 1999 freestyle hit "Take My Love" made noise at high-profile radio and continues to get spins in major-market mix shows. "Luv With U" really brings us back to the freestyle heyday of the late 80s, with Lance's sung shouts and a simple tune designed for the dancefloor. Then there's Lance the remixer: He's achieved proficiency across the genres of dance music, diversifying beyond the walls of freestyle. It's always a pleasure to get your money's worth on a cd, and that's certainly the case here. The 11 remixes of the song range from Euro Trance to one based around an "Apache" sample, amassing more than 74 minutes on the single.
