Today is ESPN's 25 Aniv. This day Sept 8 1979 the world of sports was gonna change forever. An all sports network came about. Who ever thought a little sports network from Bristo Conn. would be a World force!! It helped make sports a part of pop culture and make sports entertainment From it's nightly news program; Sportscenter...BOOYA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now there is ESPN2, ESPN radio, ESPN News, ESPN Classic, ESPN ZONE, ESPN The Mag. and ESPN Deportes This is sort of what MTV did two years later when it started ; make music a big part of entertainment and pop culture. ESPN's early years was good though with airing Aussie Rules Football, pro Racquetball, Tractor Pulls, Rodeo, Spelling Bee's, Pro darts, LOL. In addition, ESPN also broke up many marragies!!LOL.

My question is; which network played the biggest part of American Pop Culture?

I'd say it's a push.

ESPN has had a big impact in maing sports a big part of mainstream news and entertainment. It has had a big impact on the male and young culture. MTV has had a huge impact on young America. MTV is the only network to have a network be the name of a generation(mostly the Gen Xers).

LOL

There is MTV Hits, VH1 Classic, VHI mega Hits, MTV Jams, VH1 Soul, MTV Spanish. Many of these networks are expanding now. The same is gonna happen to ESPN. They are gonnal launch a College Sports Network.
