Im with you 100% on this one Frankie.

Worst freestyle releases of 2004:::: The 2004 cd's with nothing but songs from the 90's and the 80's..Why the fuk are we still releasing this shit?? You want thease songs??? Theres plenty of comps out there that have them.

2nd worse Freestyle cd's released in 2004.......Any thing that sounded like it was from the 80's and 90's but actually created in 2004. When Did your Time Machine break down???

Best shit in 2004.......I have to actually check the back of some cd's and see if its 2004 or 2003...Peace.

If I could sell my c.d.'s, then NEW freestyle would be exposed and heard everywhere. I would remove the booty bass and whatever hip hop songs & remixes were on my mix c.d.'s and introduce only the new freestyle. Then for those that like freestyle beats, remixes, and breakbeats all together, I would make c.d.'s including the breakbeat & bass remixes of trance, hip hop, & r&b songs, with some latin booty bass, latin breakbeat and latin freestyle songs added in. You would hear many (new) things that you could not find on any other c.d. It would be kind of like FREESTYLE HEAVEN meets DMA FREESTYLE FLAVA meets SO SO DEF BASS ALLSTARS with DANCE TRIP 2000 style mixed in, but in a newer fashion. If I had the chance to own a radio station with a strong signal and create my own playlist and format, I'm sure many people here would not be able to handle it because it would be unbelievable. I may play more than just freestyle music all day long, but it would still be far better than what any station in the United States are doing right now. Not to put down the 5 dance radio stations we have in this country, I'm just trying to give you an idea. Unfortunately only ONE state will be lucky, while the others will just have to wish or be jealous. I wouldn't do it here in Arizona though, I would find a city/state where I could get the most accurate mixture of a very large population while at the same time also finding a place where people appreciate freestyle/dance music most. In other words, just because your city might have the largest population, I would still choose the city with the third or fourth largest population if that other city had more freestyle/dance music supporters. Maybe you might have the city with the most freestyle supporters, but I wouldn't go there if it were the city/state with the 48th largest population. Maybe I could syndicate parts of my show on stations in those other states that were close to meeting my requirements. ...It could happen.

I just gotta show my love for FREESTYLE, by buying releases I feel deserve to be supported and played.Sometimes I buy two or three of the FREESTYLE releases I love. One that I play alot, one for back-up and one for a family or friend who loves FREESTYLE :hpound I did that for releases by CYNTHIA, ASHLEY,SAFIRE,LISETTE MELENDEZ,GEORGE LAMOND,ETC..

So far, 2004 has been pretty dismal for freestyle.

Yes, it has. I know for a fact that these New School Artists aren't getting the support they deserve on radio and in record stores. Probably a tool everyone should consider is making a video to gain airplay on MTV or MTV2 or even VH1. What do you think? Or hope for a spot in a famous magazine for teenagers (since they account for much of the sales)!

For the reason mention above, I still insist that all the GOOD independent Freestyle labels should merge and form some sort of national label group. Remember labels unites means more money for promotion, distribution, and exposure.

Want Freestyle videos on TV, don't count on MTV, MTV2 and VH1. Viacom/CBS/Infinity is very anti-Dance Music. I would try channels like mun2
(which has a morning mix show which airs more Dance music Videos than MTV has shown in 20+ years), and start a major campaign to add BPM (a 24 hour Dance Music Cable channel from Canada) into the US cable and sattlelite (DirecTV, Dish Network, Voom) systems.

Freestyle is evolving its sound, but business practices need to change. A more professional and coorporate mind frame for labels is needed, and a merge is the way to do so, not to forget that egos and personal tastes should be left aside.
