Now, I know everyone is gonna say the 'Freestyle Reunion Concert' that took place this past summer -- but I really lookin for some true old schoolers from back in the day who were fascinated by the whole idea of these shows from the OLD DAYS ... and remembering how great it was to be a part of that time.

I would have to say that NOTHING can compare to when I saw Stevie B, Expose AND the Cover Girls all perform at PULSATIONS waaaaay back in 1988 ... this was a HUGE 'typical 80's' type club out in Delaware County (outside Philly) ... it was truly incredible. I mean, Stevie B had like a full 'band' with him, complete with a slew of dancers. They put on the BEST shows at Pulsations, and they lasted MOST of the evening !!

And, all the shows were TRULY LIVE -- one of things that was great about the club.

Anyone from Philly remember this place ?!? - it was legendary, especially since it was one of the few big clubs that was NOT inside the Philadelphia city limits ...

There was also another club in South Jersey called "Club Renaissance" that had live freestyle acts just about every WEEK on Friday nights from around 1987 - 1989 ... saw some GREAT shows there as well !
 
Nyasia ,Cynthia & Cover Girls

Three acts that I remember who came to Buffalo NY were:
The Cover Girls in 1989
Cynthia in 1990
Nyasia in 1991
I'd have to say that Cynthia and Nyasia were one of the best shows I've ever seen. I know the question said,besides the Fever concert, but just wanted to say that Tony Morans performance was the BOMB!!!!!!

My favorite concerts were definitely, Company B back in '87, The Cover Girls back in '88, Expose(minus Gioia who was replaced by Kelly Moneymaker:-(
back in '93 and Sweet Sensation back in '94. I loved watching these ladies dance and sing. They were HOT!!!

One person I will probably never have the opportunity to see is Stevie B:-( Why no freestyle acts comes to Chicago is beyond me.
 
I saw most of my fave freestyle artists at the first KTU Beatstock...some of the stand-outs were George LaMond (of course!), Coro, Fascination, Sa-Fire, Nayobe, Lil Suzy, and Nice and Wild. There are still many other freestyle acts that I want to see!!

I've seen tons of acts, but I would have to say that the best for me were Sweet Sensation, and Stevie B.

Sweet Sensation was the first freestyle act that I ever saw and it was amazing!!! They were opening for New Kids (shut up I was 14!!! and I still like their songz so sue me!!! ), so they had a full stage, lights, smoke..full FX!!!!!!

Back then, no one really knew who they were in Canada, but I was all ga-ga!!! Me and my sister!! Sweet Sensation, Tommy Page, AND NEW KIDS!!! I was on a natural high from that concert for like a week!! And I remember having to BEG my mom and dad to let us go!! We even got our uncles to get in the mix and help us out!!!

And then Stevie B at the old Palazzo's. I even remember what I was wearing that night!! I even remember what I was wearing at the Sweet Sensation concert!!!
 
WELL i REMEMBER A SHOW BACK IN 88 WHEN I WAS IN MY SECOND YEAR OF STARTING MY CAREER AND I WAS A TEENAGER. I WAS IN THIS GROUP CALLED ALL-IN. WE PERFORMED AT THE SUMMER JAM 88' AT THE JACOB JAVITS CONVENTION CENTER ALONG WITH: THE LATIN RASCALS, TKA, ALTA DUSTIN, JUDY TORRES, CYNTHIA, COVER GIRLS, AND A BUNCH OF OTHER GROUPS. THE FOLLOWING WEEK WAS MY DREAM CLUB ROSELAND. WE PERFORMED WITH: BODY AND STYLE, CYNTHIA, COVER GIRLS, SOLID, LOOSE TOUCH (GEORGE LAMOND, JOEY KID, SWEET SENSATION, CORO WAS THERE BUT DIDNT HAVE A SONG OUT YET. HIS FIRST SHOW WAS THE FOLLOWING WEEK. THOSE WERE THE DAYS. THERE WERE MANY MORE BUT THOSE ARE THE ONES THAT WILL STICK WITH ME FOREVER. NYASIA I KNOW U REMEMBER THOSE SHOWS RIGHT?????

wow i think i seen everyone in concert, especially growing up, as a teen i would go to shows every weekend. i remember the clubs having 5-10 acts in one night. and those out door power 96 concerts like calle ocho, hialeah spring festival or them free beach shows...artist who stand out were GEORGE LAMONDand his loose touch posse, those guys really gave a show. TRINERE! oh man she was one of my faves, her show was HOT and full of energy and all her songs were anthems in miami...i wish she would come back.TKA always put on a hot show...INDIA's show was phat, hitting those high notes, she was da bomb! LATIN RASCALS were one of my fave groups back in the late 80's, tony and albert really kicked ass on stage. SA-FIRE,EXPOSE,JOEY KIDD, BRENDA K STARR,CORINA,STEVIE B,TOLGA,G.T,SWEET SENSATION....there were so many hot shows LOL.

the last hot show i saw was TONY MORAN at the fever show. he was my favorite artist that night, and cant forget about CORO and his dancers they have one of the tightest shows around.

I saw Brenda K Starr back in the day, and she had a bunch of Capoiera martial artists on stage along with her doing all kind of flips and moves. It was hella energetic.

her performance was tha F**ckin SH*T! even though I seen her only on a tape it did much and impressed me all the way through. she sang LIVE no sing-overs, only on the hook of course. she could dance and her dancers were phat! CORINA is the best Freestyle performer in my opinion! I also heard alot of George Lamond shows back in tha days....trying to get a hold of one of those to see it personally!

My favorite concert of all time was when i barely turned 18.....And i was finally old enough to get into a club ...I saw Collage perform with Denine ...It was a great show ..I can still remember it now...o the memories..the memories 🙂

I'm sorry, the the best show I've seen would have to be Angelina.

I've seen Cynthia, Lisstte, Tony, TKA, Lil Suzy, Stevie B, Isabel, KennyFreestyle, Steelo, Julissa, Emotion In Motion, Daisey, Buffy, and many more. I've seen a lot of acts live, but the best one has always been Angelina. The show with Spanish Fly way off the Hook!! at the Wild 94.9 Freestyle Fiesta!!!

I remember seeing SAFIRE perform at the legendary PALLADIUM in nyc. It was a record release party for her 1st album. As you enter the Palladium there was a HUGH picture of her. She had a full band and when the lights went out all you saw was a shadow of her. And then she started the PARTY!!!

The crowd was going WILD!!

GOD I LOVE THAT GIRL!
 
I dunno about you guys, but I just got back from Backdrafts, and FASCINATION was looking damnnnnn good tonight she put on some show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
Best Live Performance

I have to give it to Sweet Sensation. I loved hearing them sing and watching the synchronized dance moves. I saw them live 3 times and they were great each time.

However, I must give honorable mentions to Nyasia, Fascination, and Synthia Figueroa. I've recently seen them all at Backdrafts, and they all sang their hearts out.

Well I remenber how here in Paterson the place to perform will be Bingo Hall also known as Father English, and who ever was who ever will performed in this place and is the place where I learn, watch, went to be like the artists I saw. Thats when I started my group Latin Society good old days; So mines Have to be Robbie and 3rd Tren(Before 3rd Tren parted with Robbie and became Onne Wai) Which as a matter of Fact ALL-IN (Willie and Michael) also perform there, the other will be Johnny O., and 2 without hats (Even if the were not freestyle more house but), Anyways and also Latin Image (Now known as Nu Image) back then boy the had a show Tony, Berto, Rekk, and Omar they were the shit...........Reinaldo (Rei Summer the Original for starter) he did an excellent show....Those were the days...
