For the C-Bank info call Tommy Boy Records and ask for Eddie O'Loughlin. He can direct you who to speak to. He used to own Next Plateau.

As for the George Lamond Megamix, do I really need to call his lawyers on this or will it just go away quietly? Please do not sell material that you did not produce, write or license without giving the proper people their money. Because as we all know It's against the law.

Actually, last sunday at a street fair here in NY (not the parade), a label person had an illegal street vendor that was selling bootlegs arrested. It is a NYS felony.

PS - How will a George Lamond Megamix "save" freestyle???

Hey John..excellent point.

Speaking of bootleggers...Tell me if you can beat this one......

A few months ago i was at the Meadowlands Flea Market and came across a table that was selling cd's. I then find a bunch of cd's called "KTU FREESTYLE FREE FOR ALL". Bootlegs of course. I then start reading the songs and realize these are MY MIXES that he recorded off the radio and is now selling !!!!! It sounded like he dubbed out the ktu drops. Without telling him who i was, i asked him who owned the table, but of course he couldn't speak ENGLISH !! I was sooo ticked off !

Johnny....thats nothing!!! every year i go to the SAN GENNERO feast in LITTLE ITALY and there a bunch of guidos (he-he) that sell bootleg mixes and yes, you name is right on the covers!!! my sister bought one last year or the year before. ill ask her for it and read off what is printed on there exactly. why dont we form a posse and beat up these bootleggers? you should be getting some $$$ for these things!!

About two years ago, I was speaking with Denny Tsettos and he told me that they were taping the mixshows on KTU and selling them in (I think he said) Japan. He went over there and saw them in the stores. It's crazy.

Maybe we should start the bootleg thread?

I used to go on raids with the R.I.A.A. in NYC. I could tell you some stories.

Ok first of all, this CD was not going to go on sale to anyone. As a matter of fact i was attempting to give it out. But good point. Ive been thinking in getting in touch with anyone who has rights over George LaMonds stuff so that way i can legalize it. If you really look at it though i see other people doing this oh so often even on this site and they do it for dough. not that I am comparing myself to anyone but everyone seems to suddenly come down on me like i'm the mafia king of bootlegging or something. Bootlegging did not occur in my mind one bit. I was doing this for fun, for myself, and to promote freestyle awareness. Jack G, I had no idea about what you were talking about until the other people started posting after you, but i appologize and understand once again, I see where you were gettin' at thanks for keeping it positive. Hopefully everyone will go with Joe's George Lamond s mix instead of mine for 2 reasons: 1. hes a bad ass mixer and 2. Bad Boy Joe has a reputation....lol. It's cool, I really should'nt go out of my league. Things take time. But when and if it does COME out i'll let you guys know for sure.

Jparker if you read my last post carefully you will see that i stated that it will help save freestyle. Just like everyone else is doing right now in their attemps. I think you guys would've had a better interpretation if i wouldve used the word promote, but ahhh.

To be honest with you, I am sure Bad Boy Joe did alot of work licensing his songs on his mix cd. I am sure he has a great mixing job. Most of the time I buy the cds for the music, and not the dj. Bad Boy Joe should have picked new songs. This is why I am not going to buy it, unless people will somehow compell me to do it. I really don't buy cds unless they are new music, new artists. I have been listening to freestyle for 13 years. I don't want to hear the same songs, over and over and over. I really hate overkill!
