Ok, into the new forum!!!!

I have two autograph stories to share with ya!

First, I went to a bar with my friends in my town of Bloomfield, and we went to the Firehouse Pub, for karaoke night.

Well, the guy running karaoke comes over to our table, and asks us if we know who Judy Torres is. When we answer yes, he says , "well, that's her over there. She's out for a night with her manager, and wants to have a little fun."

I wasn't gonna miss this oportunity, so I ran home and got my copy of "Love Story". I went to her table, and she autographed it for me. My friend Ant even had the nerve to ask her to sing a duet with her. They got up and sang "I Got You Babe".

Second, I was over my friend Dave's house. All our friends were over for a bar-b-que, and they were all heavy metal fans. (uugh!) However, they knew what "freestyle" was because of me.

So anyway, his neighbor comes out and asks us, "So, have any of you heard of Sweet Sensation?" Everyone looked at me, and I immediately said yes. He said, "well, I work with Dave Vega, Sheila's brother. Hang by the phone tonight, you'll get a call from Sweet Sensation."

Later that night, the phone rings, and it was Sheila. She and the rest of Sweet Sensation were rehearsing for their tour with New Kids On The Block, and she took time to call me. We talked about 15 minutes, and I let her go get back to her rehearsals.

A week later, I got a poster in the mail. A giant record store promotional poster of the "Take It While It's Hot" album cover. It was signed "To Chucky" by Betty, Margie, and Sheila. I still have it, put inbetween to pieces of plexiglass, to keep it flat!

thats a great story, Chuck!!

heres mine:

back in 95, i was working for a security company (while i was in school).

my first day on the job, the boss told me if i would be interested in helping them out with a new account. we were to work as armed/unarmed security at a club called "CRYTALS" in Melville, Long Island. Of course i said "yes". He then began to tell me that they hired a singer that was supposed to be big in the latin industry. I inquired who it was and he told me "some singer names CYNTHIA". I was in total shock! I was like "Oh hell ya, i know her!!"

the night finally came. I was waiting in anticaption in meeting her. I tried to kill time so i hit the bar. by the time Cynthia had gotten there, they had to practically pick me off the floor. I went over to her and tried to act as sober as one could after a half a dozen dr peppers and kamakazzis. We spoke for like 10 minutes and she thanked me for being there.

theres a whole lot more to the story but it gets really ugly!!!

You Kenny??? Drunk?? nahhhhhh!😀

Here's another story for ya.

My brother is a police officer, and at the time, he was working in Jersey City area.

So he gets home one night and says to me:

"Yo Chuck, so I'm at work and I see a limo go by my post. It's late at night, and it's headlights are on, but the taillights are burnt out. It was dangerous driving, so I pulled him over to warn him. I wasn't gonna write a ticket. As I'm walking over past the limo, the back window goes down, and there's this young chick in the back, and says, 'officer, is there a problem?' so I tell her not to worry, I just need to speak to the driver. Then she says, 'do you know who I am?' and I said, not trying to be rude, but all I need to know is who's the driver. So I talk to the driver and let him know about the tail lights, and he thanks me. As I go past the rear, the girl calls to me and says, 'officer, thanks for not giving him a ticket.' and hands me an autographed picture. I said no problem, took the pic and went back to the car. So Chuck, who it Lil' Suzy???????"

I almost fell off my chair. I told him if he doesn't want the pic, I would be glad to take it. He listens to classic rock and some hip hop, he had no idea who she was, UNTIL i played "Take Me in Your Arms" for him, and then he would't give the pic to me! 😡

Any more stories? I enjoyed these While eating my lucky charms! 😀

yes, Chuck. can ya believe I was a real "lush" at one time in my life?🙂

does anyone want to hear what happen that night with the catfight?

I have many promos pics from many artists some that I got when I was a fan and others I got when I started to performed with them. The one I can remenber was when George Lamond, Cynthia, Johnny O., Latin Image aka Nu Image, and Onne Wai performed at Father English aka Bingo Hall. Anybody that was annybody in the Freestyle Industry performed there. Anyways it was for my birthday and that Sat. I was at Eclipse record store and Jill and old manager from the store had just got a promo vynil of "Like a Stranger" Album. Since she knew I was a big Johnny O. she let me hear it. I love the album but the 2 that caught my ear was "Don't ever want to loose your love" and "We Can't Go On this Way". I memorize believe it or not both of the songs with in 2 hrs, She gave me tickets to go see them that night. When Johnny O. came on and started he said "I'm going to sing my new song coming out soon, and it goes like this" and "We can't go on" came on. I was like I know this song....And started to sing the song. When he got by my side of the stage and so me singing the song he look puzzle when he finish the show he brought me bak stage and gave me a poster which I still have with my name and my ex name on it. he ask me "How do you know this song, if it haven't been release yet"? and I told how I learn it....so it's a good memory I will always have, I even have the flyer it was "Sat. Nov. 16, 1990"

And Great Story ALEX 🙂

Spill IT KENNY!!!!

OK,I mean no disrespect to Cynthia when i say this. After the show, a couple of girls rolled out of the club (when i mean "rolled" i mean because they were really "rotund"!) and as they walked by Cynthia, they called her some really nasty names. well, the next thing you know is Cynthia turned around and there was an instant cat fight!!! we broke it up (the security) but Cynthia was the obvios victor!!! the other girls left crying!

o-k i got one................

back in "92 i used to go to a club/restaraunt called dick clark's american band stand here in miami(fl) and one day i went there around late dec to grab a bit to eat then go down stairs to the club part of it,anyway while i was up there i had bought an a/b hat and bumper sticker and i just so happen to have my camra there with me i sat down at one of the table's to eat by my self and while i was eating the waitress came up to me and asked if i would like to meet dick clark, and of course i told her that i would love to meet my idol.she say's well ok he's sitting right over there,i'll go tell him you would like to meet him.he was sitting there by him self, she went over to him, told him,he got up came to my table asked if he could sit down(i said of course)and we chatted for about 45 min.he was telling me that as soon as he gets up from here he's got to go to ny to do the new yrs thing,he sighn my hat and took a pic with me.he's a real down to earth person...that really made my day to meet my idol like that....so there u have it........vapro

Oh man...I got one. When freetyle first blew up, I was too young to go to any of the shows, and I wanted to go so badly. So here it is yrs later and now I go whenever I can. Anyway, I have always been a fan of Cynthia's and I had seen her perform but had never gotten a chance to meet her. Well back in March, Club Blis was doing Freestyle Friday's and every week, someone was performing. It was either the first or second week for this and Maci and I went to go see Lisette Melendez perform. Well who does Lisette bring up? Cynthia. After they finished, I was determined I was going to finally meet Cynthia. Naya was hosting the show, and I went over to her and asked her if she knew where Cynthia was and she told that she had just left, but if I hurried, I could probably catch her outside. So I grab Maci and practically fly out the door and there she was...so I called after her and she came over and I told her how I was a fan and that I've been wanting to meet her for a long time, etc etc. Now, only prob was that I had a little too much in me, and btwn the amount of alcohol, and my nerves, I could lliterally feel my stomach turning, and all I could think was please don't let me puke on Cynthia. Luckily I didn't, and her and I talked for about 10 minutes, she thanked me for being a fan and gave me a hug and said she hoped to see me at her other shows. It was at one of her other shows when I got an autographed promo record. But that was definatley classic. Luckily I talked to Cynthia when I did cause no more than 10 minutes later, I'm on a mad dash for the bathroom....and well now I have the nickname at Blis as "drunk Irish chick" 🙄
