I'm interested in the names of all the Hot 103 / Hot 97 DJs from the beginning up until about 1993 or 1994. The only names I can think of at this moment, are:

Glenn Frischer
Frankie Knuckles
Frankie Bones (same guy?)
There was the Bird Man something or other...

Who else was there? I know there were a lot.

Also. Where were the weekend shows hosted? I remember:

Chicago's in Lodi
The Palladium
The Dragon Club

What else?

If you happen to have ANY recordings of ANY Hot 103 / Hot 97 shows up until around 1994, please click on the following link to make my money:

Make My Money, Damnit!

Other DJ's were Franco Iammello (Chicago's resident DJ), Scott Blackwell and Freddy Bastone

Clubs Hot 103 broadcasted from include 1018, The Underground, Emerald City, 4D, Temptations. There are tons of others, but its early in the morning...lol

Hey Johnyy didn't they also braodcast from ESCAPES in Long Island? LIke you said it's still too early!!..lolol

Naya 🙂

Thanks for the replies! I just thought of another one. Roman Ricardo! I think he did a lot of the house mixes..

Escapes! You loved those male reviews, didn't you, Nyasia. hehe That's all I ever used to hear about on the radio.

So let's see. So far we have:

Glenn Frischer
Frankie Knuckles
Frankie Bones
Franco Iammello
Roman Ricardo
Scott Blackwell (don't remember him)
Little Louie Vega
Freddy Bastone (don't remember him)

The Underground! That's one I certainly remember hearing!

Hay Sal!,, LOLOL
those male reviews did nothing for me, what good is seeing all that meat, WHEN YOUR ON A DIET!!..LOL

ESCAPES........my old stomping grounds!!!! i remember seeing SWEET SENSATION in 1987, STEVIE B there in 1988, SHANA in 1990 and so many other freestyle acts! that place was so close to home! a couple of years ago, BILLY DEAN bought the place and that is all they hold there now....."ALL MALE REVUES". I used to DJ for Billy Dean back in 1997.

and "NO", the dancers arent GAY!! i know most of them personally and they are straight guys with familes......i could tell you alot of kinky stories of thiers from back in the day!

Kenny, who said they were gay? I meant that I already had my man (Racer) so what good was looking at them, if I couldn't touch them. 🙂

Naya

BIG SHOUT OUT TO ESCAPES😀 :THAT WAS THE STUDIO 54 OF THE FREESTYLE LEGACY. I WAS ALWAYS THERE AND HOT 103.5 WAS ALWAYS THERE.😎

Hot 103. Those were the days.. You know, if Hot 97 never switched to R&B, Freestyle would have never gone underground. I'll always hate those f**ks for that.

I agree also

weren't there a couple of Saturday Night Dance Parties from Metro 700?

or maybe that was just me sneaking into Metro 700 underage....hmmm.....

Answer Me!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey. Does anybody remember the old commercials in the morning where there was this guy who always yelled, "Answer me!!!".. Who was that? Anybody have any tapes from way back then?

I've been on Morpheus lately trying to collect as many mixes as I can. Those radio mixes are always my favorites..

Wow. That certainly brought back lots of memories. I might have to copy all that onto a CD so I can hear it all in full in my car... 🙂 If anyone has full recordings of things like this (with all the music in between) I'd gladly buy copies.. A lot of them... Any takers?

Sal -- Did you get the links on that page to play??? Only one of them worked on my computer, hmmm im not sure why they dont work for me , anyway i know that i have a cass tape of one of the HOT 97 Sat Night Dance Party from back in the day --- but ima have to look for it cuz im not exactly sure where it is..ill let you know if i find it
