in your life did you realize that you finally were an "adult"? That you found yourself feeling different from the person that you once were before and from that point on, you knew you were on your own. You was now a "grown up".

I realized I was an adult when I left home. I said come hell or high water I'm not looking back. Lots of hell and lots of water and 10 years later, That's when for me I realized I was an adult. When I was out on my own.

Wow.

I first felt like a grown up when I came out 8 years ago. I stood up and said who I was, and it took every ounce of courage I had. But that was just the begining. With the changes I put myself through, and taking better care of myself diet/healthwise, getting myself out of debt, and standing up for myself against people who want to put me down, made me realize I am not the child that grew up in the house I live in, that I am not the unsure teenager, and that I am not the loser I was made to believe I was.

I am a grown up now! And it feels good!

WOW! Chuck that was powerful. :yeey Much props to you. That's why I love ya'. You're a "true" person. Congrats on what you've succeeded at and feel good about today. 😉

Thanks love. It was a rough road. I don't sugarcoat it, but I don't look back with regrets now, because what I went through then, made the the adult I am now.

Looking forward to showing that adult self off at my 20 year high school reunion in 2007! 😉

When...I fell in love at age 25. 🙂

when i stepped off a bus at three in the morning at great lakes naval training center and a drill instructor had me doing push ups right away for cracking jokes on the side walk.. i was seventeen

When I was 21. In the academy. Able to take a life and help one. Knowing how much more responsible I am suppose to be than the average joe.

I WOULD HAVE TO SAY ABOUT 4 MONTHS AGO...I FINALLY PACKED MY BAGS AND MOVED OUT OF MY MOMS HOUSE...IT WAS THE HARDEST DECISION I HAVE HAD TO MAKE, BUT I BELIEVE IT WAS/IS THE BEST ONE I HAVE MADE. FOR THE PAST 2 YEARS MY MOM WOULD TALK ME OUT OF LEAVING HER AND MOVING IN WITH MY DAD...WELL I DID IT AND NOW I HAVE MY DRIVERS LICENSE FOR THE FIRST TIME...I AM GOING TO GET A NEW CAR...GO TO SCHOOL (FINALLY) AND GET AN APARTMENT! ALL THESE THINGS I WOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN ABLE TO DO BACK HOME...I WASN'T DEDICATED ENOUGH AND ALWAYS HAD TO MUCH IN MY WAY! SO ONCE I MOVE OUT OF MY DADS AND GET MY NEW CAR I WILL HAVE TO SAY I AM PRETTY DAMNED GROWN UP FOR A 22 YEAR OLD...LOL...I HAVE IT SOOOOOO EASY RIGHT NOW BUT YOU CAN ONLY LIVE THAT WAY FOR AWHILE...AND I'M NOT USED TO LIVING THAT WAY!!!!!:dwink

i was out on my own by 19 but i don't think it made me an "adult". it's definitely when i had my kids! knowing that you are responsible for the life of someone else is a major reality check. they'll make you grow up real fast!! as soon as you have kids, they change the way you think and feel about everything! 😉

I was doing my thing when I was a youngin', but truly became an adult with full responsabilities when GOD blessed me with my kids & own fam.!!!!!
