I AM TOTALLY ANNOYED AT KTU BECAUSE I HARDLY EVER HEAR THEM PLAY ANY OF THE NEW TKA SONGS. EVERYTIME I TURN THEM ON, IT'S THAT DAM ASSWIPE ENRIQUE INGLESIAS WHO WOULD NEVER AMOUNT TO SQUAT IF IT WEREN'T FOR HIS FATHER. SINCE KTU IS WONDERING IF THEY CAN BE ANYONES HERO THEY CAN BE A LOT OF PEOPLES IF THEY PLAY NEW TKA MUSIC. ANY ONE AGREE GIVE ME A HOLLA.

Everything these days is corporate. As you know, KTU is owned by Clear Channel(one of the biggest communication companies out there). KTU, Z100, even Hot 97(CBS/Infinity/Viacom).It's all about getting ratings. They feel that Britney, Nsuck, JaRule's(fake a$$) is who they feel sell! Which is sad, Safire is more talented than Britney will ever be!

i am sorry but ktu annoys the crap out of me...all the time the same freaking songs!!!! all that stupid ass crap!!!! omg...and then when u hear freestyle its always a judy song or a lisette melendez song....oh god!!! how many times can i hear no reason to cry or together forever...they also had freestyle playing all the time a few months back but then when they threw thier party(WHICH SOLD OUT QUICK AS HELL)...then they forgot about freestyle and cut back to thier same old crap...so i say whatever

Freestyle on KTU

Can you believe it? Bad Boy Joe has been supplying KTU with 8 freestyle mixes a week as per Jeff Z's request. These 8 mix shows would take Joe approximately 16-20 hours to complete....and Joe wasn't even getting paid. Now that Bad Boy Joe wanted to start giving FRESH NEW freestyle a chance in his mix shows as well as providing an opportunity for other talented d.j.'s a shot at some exposure ...like he's had (all under Bad Boy Joe's creative control mind you) Jeff Z immediately cancelled the late-night freestyle shows without having the decency of calling Joe himself (after Joe just completed the last mix this Thursday)and letting him know he had any problem with this.

Many times Joe would be in KTU's studio while a freestyle mix was playing and the phones would be ringing off the hook! They couldn't answer the phones fast enough.

I think everyone should call KTU at 1(800) 845-1035 and request that they reinstate the late-night freestyle mix. Whether they use Bad Boy Joe, Johnny Budz, Johnny Rocks or possibly some other Hot New d.j....it doesn't matter. But just call the station and let them know you want FREESTYLE!!!

Well, atleast they're still the only station playing FREESTYLE music more than....uh, who else?? KTU does annoy the shiz outta me..but much props goes to JohnnyBudz for slappin' down the freestyle tunes during lunch time..Judy Torres for doin' it still on late Sunday nites and going to work at the station on Monday early..and everyone else holding it down at the station.(freestyle realnesss) 😉

true MARC, they do play alot more freestyle than WBLI and PARTY 105, but when your out on eastern Long Island, KTU doesnt even exist!

That sucks. I work nights and the midnight freestyle mix kept me goin.

One thing that annoyed me and maybe this is why joe isn't mixing on ktu no more is that the mixes were all REPEATS. I heard the same mix at least twice a week !! But i'll take repeat freestyle mixes over Britney, Enrigue anytime !

I'm calling ktu right now !

You know what... I can understand them playing Nsync, Brittney, and Enrique Iglesia, cause they represent major money.... but I dont understand why they play these corny little club songs that aren't even out in the clubs around New York. Some of them are so corny like that one song " Look at us Baby look at us now".... thats straight up corny... I don't get it. "Can You Stand the Rain" was on the top 8 at 8 for a long time. You'd think that they would be like " oh... maybe we should play more new freestyle due to the sucess of this song" but no. uuuugggghhhh!!!! so FRUSTRATING !! ha ha ha. I can't help but laugh. oh well. what are you goin to do?

WOW. I AM SO HAPPY TO SEE ALL THE FEEDBACK AND I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO COULDN'T STAND KTU ANYMORE. I WISH THAT THERE WAS A GOOD COLLEGE RADIO STATION SUPPORTING FREESTYLE. IN BROOKLYN WE USE TO HAVE B91(90.9) THEY PLAYED EVERYTHING AND A LOT F FREESTYLE. I WISH I HAD THE POWER TO OWN MY OWN RADIO STATION. I BET I WOULD DESTROY KTU IN A WEEKS TIME. LOL. TILL THAT HAPPENS I GUESS WE ALL HAVE TO SUFFER.
