I read this in the post today and was shocked & sad upon reading it.

January 21, 2003 --

Soulful-voiced pop singer Anastacia is battling breast cancer, according to a published report.

The 29-year-old performer, who lives in San Diego, was diagnosed over the weekend, a Sony Music veep told The Sun of London.

"They have caught it early," said Gary Farrow, who added that Anastacia "has commitments this week, including filming her new video. Then she will have to address these issues full on."

Anastacia, best known for her hit "I'm Outta Love," is a possible Oscar nominee this year for her song "Love is a Crime," which is featured in the movie "Chicago."

wow god bless her, why does it always happen to nice people, she just got her career off the ground and know this, it just isn't fair... hope she stays strong and pulls through
 
I wish her nothing but the best and I hope that she gets well. She seems like a strong woman who will overcome this disease.

Well they said they caught it early...so lets hope all goes well. Same thing happened to Nancy Reagan. This is sad news. 🙁 I have faith she will pull through and be ok.

I wish the very best for Anastasia...she is 1 of the coolest women in the music industry today and she can really sing!! This isnt the first illness Anastasia has had to deal with..she also has suffered from Chrome's disease. She seems like a very strong woman, so I know she can beat this!

I heard she's had it for a while now. I saw her on the tv guide channel talking about it maybe a year ago.
