Ruben should win.His voice is great. The other two in the top will be
Kimberly Locke and Clay.
Also just to comment on "I`ll always love you"tha was a #1 ballard not a freestyle song.Just because an artist did a few dance records doesn`t make them a freestyle artist.

You know what, I totally disagree with what you said about Clay. He has a beautful voice and it's not that pop-sounding. He may not be gorgeous but he has a sweet face...and have u heard how many girls in the audience scream for him every week???? I love Ruben and Kim, but I'd be thrilled to see Clay win too.

In the end it all comes to who's voice is better, ovbiously. As for looks, personally, I don't think anyone is that attractive to look at. I can't picture neither one of them on a poster. Sadly enough, we all know that looks play a MAJOR part in popularity and in record sales. Once the show is over and when America has chosen the next "American Idol", true success will be displayed through record sales.

Well said Carlito. I think that Kim Locke, Ruben, and Clay all have beautiful voices and from the response they all get from the audience each week, I think they can all be successful. And I have to say that the talent this time around is so much better than the first American Idol. By the way, Kelly Clarkson has the #1 album and God Bless The USA by this year's American Idols is the #1 single.

Funny that this topic is in here because I was just thinking about our Freestyle artists actually competing in an American Idol.

First... Rueben is definitely the most talented. Clay has a great "performing" voice and Kimberly is good too. As for Josh, he has a great country voice and when this folds for him, I see him getting some kind of deal in that genre.

Now, back to my question....

Is there an age limit to be a contestant on AI? I mean, have any of our Freestyle artists ever auditioned?

The reason I ask is because I read about TKA going into other music to become more well known, and let's face the facts... Freestyle music doesn't reach as many people as say R&B music does so it's understood that they should do just that.

I know AI isn't about Freestyle music... but it's about talent and we have allot of unrecognized talent here.

Soooooo, my question is... has anyone here ever thought of audiencing? (not sure I spelt that right)

Oh, I didn't know there was an age limit (I just guessed there was because of who showed up for the auditions).

Thanks.

😉

coming into this year of AI, they were looking more for the vocals over looks unlike the first one. thats why clay or ruben or any other ppl have a good shot at winning. just cuz yer an american idol doesnt mean u have to be posing shirtless for posters or whatnot, theres diff ways to be idols not jus based upon the looks .. anyways, imo clay and ruben has the best voice .. amazing how clay has that voice coming from him 🙂

"American Idol" doesnt have much to offer on Freestyle.

The 3 closest things that come close (& not even, really), are:

1. Some Latin guy singing Brenda K's "I Still Beleive" at the beginner auditions.

2. Carmen doing Taylor Dayne's ballad.

3. & Paula's prescence. (not a Freestyle artist, but a dance-pop icon of the Freestylin' 80's era, that still looks great.

Thats about it. lol.

: P

I just want to add that the songs have to be at least somewhat recognizable to the judges and the audience...they have to have some familarity with the music. That's why they pick particular themes and songwriters. So dont hold your breath on ever hearing freestyle music, unless it was a top 10 hit.
