Well, I guess I'll be the first to bring this up!!!

Kimberly Caulwell, the sexy blonde who was voted off last week, vocally resembles both Gioa from Expose & physically resembles a young Taylor Dayne. Kim's face is angelic. A Taylor Dayne track (I'll always love you, I believe) was performed by one of the contestants, who was voted off last night.

There should be more FS ballads on Idol, such as "Because I love you (the postman song)" & "Season's Change" by Expose.

Any other FS connection to American Idol? Any comments about the show whatsoever??

OR IS CLAY AITKEN,HANDS DOWN, THE AMERICAN IDOL????? I THINK SO
 
I overheard the cover of Taylor Dayne's "I'll Always Love You" on American Idol and I have to say that that specific performance really stood out, because it sounded horrible. American Idol should focus more on originality and less on remakes/covers. A "true" American Idol should be able to write and compose their own music, not that of someone elses. Otherwise, it defeats the whole purpose of what the music industry is truly about.
 
I PERSONALLY THINK CLAY WOULD BE A GREAT BROADWAY STAR I THINK SIMON SAID THAT IN ONE OF THE EPISODES AND I TOTALLY AGREE. I DONT SEE SEE HIM AS THE AMERICAN IDOL. I THINK RUBEN IS GOING TO TAKE IT ALL THE WAY. THE LAST TWO CONTESTANTS STANDING WILL BE KIMBERLY LOCKE AND RUBEN AND THAT'S GONNA BE A HELL OF A COMPETITION BECAUSE THEYRE BOTH OFF THE HOOK... WE'LL SEE HOW IT RIDES OUT... 🙂
 
i agree....i think Rueben is takin' it all the way. Clay would be a great Broadway star, but not the American Idol!! (sorry to Clay fans)!
Also, what do you guys think of Josh? i really don't think he's good and they keep him cause he's a Marine....i don't know, just my opinion!!

If you are talking about the Taylor Dayne track that was sung on Tuesday, it was 'Love Will Lead You Back'.
 
Yes, Carmen Rasmussen performed "Love Will Lead You Back" by Taylor Dayne and unfortunately, she killed such a beautiful song.

As for kIm, sorry mike, but I totally disagree with you. I think she doesnt hold a candle to Gioia or Taylor Dayne, and has a long way to go before she comes close vocally to either of them.

I would love to see more freestyle performed on AI, but you know they would have to be very well-known songs that the judges would know of.

I would love to see either Clay, Ruben, or Kimberly Locke win this competition...although I have a strong feeling that Ruben will win. However, I hope that whoever wins will come out with an album that is authentic. Kelly Clarkson's sound sis already too similar to that of Christina Aguilera and Destiny's child. While I cannot deny that she has a great voice (and I did vote for her), her sounds still needs to be more original. I swear, all these singers and songs sound alike after awhile!!

FREESTYGAL, I THINK KIM HAS A VERY GOOD CHANCE. AS TO COMPARING HER TO TAYLOR DAYNE SHE DOESNT HOLD UP AGAINST HER. BUT AS THE COMPETITION AS PROGRESSED SHE HAS SHOWN ALOT OF IMPROVEMENT. AS FOR JOSH, THE DAY HE DID THE NSYNC SONG HE SOUNDED HORRIBLE CONSIDERING JOSH HAS A BEAUTIFUL VOICE HE JUST PICKED THE WRONG SONG. IT DID NOT SHOWCASE HIS VOICE AT ALL. WHILE I WAS WATCHING I WAS CRINGING KNOWING THERE WAS NO WAY HE WAS GOING TO HIT THE HIGH NOTES.

BUT LIKE I SAID BEFORE I SEE KIM AND RUBEN DUKING IT OUT FOR THE AMERICAN IDOL TITLE... THOUGH I WILL BE ROOTING FOR RUBEN BECAUSE THE KID IS NICE.... WITH NO QUESTION...
 
Here's my 2 cents! Kimberly Caldwell was cute sure, but she had ZERO range in her voice, and really only sang halfway decent. Carmen should have NEVER made it into the top 12! She totally ruined Taylor Dayne's song, and the one she did be Blondie! Kimberly Locke is doing great, and I think its between her and Ruben. And every day I think how cool it would be if someone sang freestyle on AI!!! I would love to audition, but I'm 27 (too old!) I might try for Star Search (been thinking about it) and I would definitely do a Freestyle song. But an upbeat one, not a ballad. Everyone is always singing slow songs! I think its more important to show some energy!

TAYLOR DAYNE'S BALLADS ARE THE BEST THEY SHOULD NEVER BE RE-SUNG, MORE IMPORTANTLY BY SOMESONE WHO IS GONNA MAKE YOU THROW UP AFTER HEARING IT..

ALSO, IMAGE DOES HAVE A LOT TO DO WITH THIS COMPETITION. RUBEN'S WEIGHT WILL HURT HIM IN TERMS OF MARKETABILITY.
 
Well, I think that Simon is probably rooting for Ruben to win because I do believe he is very marketable....just for the very reason that R&B is so popular. Simon said this week that he can see Clay on Braodway and that is a compliment..which I agree with because most Broadway stars have truly beautiful voices. I think Clay is extremely talented and has a truly melodic, beautiful voice. As for image, neither Clay, Kim Locke, or Ruben have the look that everyone seems to think is so important these days...but let me just say this, any one of them has 100 times more talent than most of the artists out there...and it's a shame that people have to hold looks in such a high regard.

And to nmy good friend CEESIL...sweetie, I totally agree with what you said lolll And I agree with what alfa said about Kimberly Caldwell...sorry, I just dont think the girl was very talented.

mike man..are u blind....not that u can see ruben on a poster..but can u honestly picture a shirtless clay ( ewwwwww) on a teenager's wall?? Didnt think so....Clay got a future in BROADWAY, and thats about it...He is NO IDOL!

Anyway....Kim Locke and Ruben got it "LOCKED"...I'll tell u why...they can ACTUALLY SING!!!

Clay is hard to look at, and he looks in pain when he "oversings" his boring songs.....
