I just wanted to let everyone know that Amante's "Let's Get It On" is going to available this spring in Germany.

That's good, but how does that help...

That's good, but how does that help those of us in the U.S. who might want to purchase the Amante track?

I TAPED IT OFF LAST WEEKS FREESTYLE MIX 🙂 I LISTEN TO IT ALL THE TIME!! WOOHOOOOO LETSSSSS GET ITTTTTTTTT ONNNN

actually it aint released yet, i received it from a reputable source and the only way to get it is if u know someone who happens to have it and if they will send it to you!!!!!

I'm glad everybody is having fun bootlegging my song, that assures it will never see a U.S release. Stealing and cheating, just what I would expect from the freestyle industry. As of now EVERYBODY I mail promotional material to is cut off. Just who is this "someone who will send it to you."

LOL

um....yo chris im a freestyle dj and i been wanting that record on 12'...heard it many times on ktu and fell in love with the track...is there anyway i can purchase a copy? no stealing or bootlegging here, i want the real sh*t! lol

Hey Chris, you told me I was the only one who had it !!!

lol

Rest assured I didn't give a copy to NO ONE. I lost a few friends because of it, but hey, I'm loyal to ya !! lol

No song is safe from bootlegging, Chris. But CD's still sell and radio stations still play music, so artists and writers still can make money. I admit that I do download from Napster. If I like the song, I buy the CD, if it's available. I know a lot of people will too. Release the single for the US. You have a lot of support here.

Hey Johnny If you have the 1st copy I must have the 2nd! Last week Chris mailed me a copy of all the songs in which he has produced & taken part in writing and let me tell you, It's sad that such a great talent will be discouraged from continuing to produce and write freestyle tracks. As great as I feel the Amante track is, the only support freestyle has right now is a lot bullshit talk. Even if the song would be available on 12 inch or cd single, I would bet about ten people would buy it. I think if things continue the way they are, we will be forced to use KF approach of offering freestyle to the pubic, via mp3 sites. I just can't see Lables putting out $ for product in which no one is willing to buy regardless of how good the material. Just my opinion, I'm not directly talking to anyone on this board or trying to start trouble!! I'll keep my copy in my safe Chris!!

let me say

At least I put out vinyl to support my internet freestyle. Can anyone else say the same? No!I actually pay my artists money also.I see your point but Internet Freestyle isnt such a bad thing.

Armante

The Armante's gem simply deserves more recognition from the American labels specialized in Freestyle music. It's really a shame that this great track didn't find a record deal. It's better sometimes to think first about the quality instead of the money!!!
Keep up the good work Chris.

MP3

Hey Kenny,
What's up?
I'm not sure that the MP3 format is the perfect way to promotion Freestyle music, for instance. It's an easy way to avoid to spend more money on the artist. What do you think Kenny? Just my opinion 🙂)))
Take care.

answer

Francis,
People are gonna bootleg copies no matter what.I spend extra money on my artists by making sure that their stuff gets on vinyl while other labels cannot even make that happen.Go figure.....
kF

yep!

Hey Ken,
I was talking generally, not only about you...and your decision to put some of your songs or productions on MP3.com!
Nothing personal! 🙂))
Keep up the good work, and hope to see more vinyls on Sidebusters Entertainment.
What happened to your second album? Any Release date?
Keep in touch.
Freestylely yours,

hey chris-
don't get mad if anybody's bootlegging your song - it's your own fault - you knew lots of people liked the song (me excluded - no offense) you coulda sold copies of it yourself to the people who wanted it even though it wasn't officially released yet.

Good Points

To: Kenny

I don't think Sammy C meant his comment as an insult directed at you. I believe he was just making a point about how many people claim to support FreeStyle, but when it comes down to it, very few of those people will actually spend money on new FreeStyle releases.

To: Francis

I agree with your statement about "mp3.com" not being the perfect format for the promotion of FreeStyle music. Although I understand why some artists use it as a distribution means, I don't think I will ever fully embrace it: I prefer my music on (non-mp3) CD's or vinyl. Period.

To: Chyqo

You make a very good point about how the Amante song could have been sold directly to all those people who wanted to buy it, even though it had not yet been released.

Just my two cents

In regards to this whole situation, I would like to give my views and opinions. Obviously,...we are all here on CLUBFREESTYLE for one reason. We are all freestyle fans. I think by now, all of us from artists to producers, as well as fans realize that freestyle had its day. As sad as it is to say, it is reality. And if you don't realize it, I am sorry.

As with any type of music, past, present, and future, freestyle will always have its faithful followers. However, there is no money in freestyle. If there was monitary potential with freestyle, all the major labels that carried freestyle artists in the 80's & '90's would be carrying them still today.

There were a lot of people involved with "Let's Get It On", and I don't think anyone of us thought it would be as big a sucess as it is. Likewise I don't think anyone of us planned to quit our day jobs because of it. I can't speak for everyone who was involved with the track, but as the artist, I can say I did it for the LOVE OF FREESTYLE!! And I would be willing to bet that all of us involved did too! As an aspiring artist, I feel a great sense of accomplishment with "Let's Get It On". Radio support from Johnny B. was obviously enormous to the success, as well as all the fans who request it and talk about it. And I thank you all. Chris Sammarco and myself paid all production and studio costs for "Let's Get It On". It wasn't a whole heck of alot, but point is, money came out of our pockets. Do I plan on making one red cent off the track? Nope!...not at all. And from the bottom of my heart, I really don't mind. I am just glad that people enjoy the track. As well, those of you who don't deserve your opinions too, and I respect that.

I may have babled a lil' too much, but the bottom line is this. Freestyle and "money" are words that don't go together. If we could, YES,....of course we would love to sign the track to a label and have it promoted and played all over. We don't hold that key. Will it happen? Who knows. Until next time, Peace & Love!!.....FREESTYLE 4 EVER!!

AMANTE

good track

All I got to say is that It would have been nice to pop over to mp3.com and purchase the Amante track and enjoy the interactive cd that came with it.(including a link to photos,mp3`s and other fan related stuff.)I know I would have bought it and so would have a lot of peeps that I know.I am more about action than talk.I dont take any comments the wrong way, after all I am a huge fan of this music and Im doing my best to seek alternatives to the "good ol boy/u aint in if u aint in system"Y`all know what I mean, its the very same system that killed the support of the industry in the first place.
Much Respect,
kF
