Ok Afroman u know the i got high guy! He has this funny song that sounds sorta like Stevies Spring Love. Its called Palmdale its soooooooooo funny! Let me know wut u think of it!

holy shit i am still laughing.........alot better than that stupid "i got high" song.......still i dont think that good classics should ever be touched.

Exactly cuz now every time im gonna hear spring love im gonna be hearing paaaaaaaaaaaalmmmmmmm daaaaaaale in the back of my head and spring love is actually my favorite all time song so yeah this should be good now! But still its funny!

paaaaaaaaaaaaalm daaaaaaaaaaaale come back to meeeeeeeeeee LMFAO!

I haven't heard this song, but it's gotta be a cover song in order for Stevie B to get royalties.

LOL. If Afroman sampled "Spring Love" then he pays royalites. Did he sample the song? I haven't heard it

Well the beat is very similar and the way he sings the chorus is like exact to the way stevie sings the chorus of spring love. I dont know if he paid royalties. If neone has the cd it should say weather or not he sampled.

First off: Afroman did not, did not sample Stevie B.'s "Spring Love"
What he did is not called sampling.

It is hard to classify. Yes, Afroman's song "Palmdale" does follow the same melody, even though the music has been changed some. And the same is to be said for the lyrics.

It is not called sampling, and it is not a cover, or a remake.

But "Palmadale", without a doubt was based on, and at the very least, inspired by "Spring Love"

I want to read the album's liner notes to see if Stevie B is mentioned in the song credits.

I forget who penned "Spring Love".

If Stevie, and whoever else wrote "Spring Love" aren't listed as a writer, along with Afroman, then Afroman is screwed, because then he stole the song.

But if he did list Stevie, etc., in the song credits, then all is fine, because those "Spring Love" songwriters will receive a writers royalty which equals money in their pockets.

But there is a second part to this paradox.
I doubt Stevie B. would give Afroman permission to use one of his songs at all, because of Afroman's questionable lyrics, and uh, character traits.

So, if Stevie did give Afroman permission, knowing what Afroman would probably do with the song, that is very hypocritical on Stevie's part, because it goes against everything Stevie B. has stood for over the years. Especially when it comes to children.

Here is a small sample of the lyrics from Afroman's song "Palmdale":
Palmdale, come back to me
I need you and I love you, baby
Palmdale, come back to me

Check it out, check it out, check it out
No more rats and no more roaches
Livin' next door to football coaches
Now I got a new place to sell my crack
Now I got little white kids to jack
I stopped wearin' blue, wasn't trippin' on red
Too busy squabbin' with the skinheads
Stupid questions, distract the class
Rubbin' little white girls on the ass
I didn't really care if I passed or failed
I knew I was headed for the NFL
Until the playoff game, shoulder got hurt
I thought about my future, layin' in the dirt
I can't jump, I can't flinch
Superstar player, ridin' the bench
Graduate from school? Don't make me laugh
I got an F+ in basic math
Give it to me now

Palmdale, (Hell yeah) come back to me
I gotta do one song for my neighborhood (chicken sound)
Palmdale, come back to me

I don't know Jason, according to stories I'm sure many of us have heard, there are plenty of underage girls out there that may beg to differ with you!!!
