About Tony Monaco's April Fool's Joke

It was a great relief for me when you said that it was all a joke!....but you know something....there is one reason why I actually thought that what Tony Monaco was saying was true....I don't mean to be pessimistic, but I can see something like that happening here in Canada, or at least in Toronto.

Just look at what happened to the other stations, namely Power 88.5 and Energy 108. Power 88.5 disappeared, and Energy 108 has changed the kind of music they play....and it's been a while, and so has 103.5

I remember when I used to turn my radio on to any of those three stations (88.5, 103.5, 108) most of the time I heard Freestyle, Euro, or house. 108 for the past two years has been playing a lot more rock, and the evergrowing music that is dominating everything is hip-hop and r&b. We are just not getting enough freestyle, the one hour show on Sunday is definitely not enough....

I hope to never see the day when the Freestyle Frenzy would stop airing, and I believe that with more fan support in Toronto, freestyle will be the lifestyle!

Thats waht EESH wanted and i wanted to do we started sending emails to the powers at 103.5 to voice our opinions and tell them that freestyle needs more air play, but it changed and we all started bitching and complaining, no one read the posts before them and people got made at each other. IF WE ALL get together to promote freestyle and get it played on the radio then FREESTYLE AND RADIO STATIONS LIKE Z103.5 will be around for a long time unlike 88.5 and 640 and 108.

that was soooo funny, i was even close to sending an e-mail to him asking if i could help out in any way but when he said it was going to be replaced with some rock grunge show and kept going on and on with a sad voice, i know it couldn't be true because the owners of 103.5 would want him promoting the new show instead of dissing it. but he really did do a good job and even a lot of my buddies called me and i was fooled at first... good job tony, you probably caused enough heart attacks, but it was hilarious!!!!

i knew all along it was a joke because my friend Stevie E's b day was on April 1 and i remembered it was april fools day! so when he said it was comin off the air and goin to be replaced with a rock show i was laughin...like tha daaaay that happeneds,
