Mechanical Rights Agencies
When you record someone else’s song, you have to have their permission, and you have to pay them a royalty, called a "mechanical royalty". And, if someone else records your songs, they have to pay you. And, if you sign to a record company, and they pay for your recording and own the copyright on that recording, then that record company has to pay you for the rights to reproduce your songs. The mechanical rights agencies are there to do the collecting for you, and ensure that the record companies are paying you what you are owed. The rates are usually set at an industry standard, sometimes it’s law, and sometimes the record companies refuse to pay you the full amount, and only pay a reduce rate. Following are brief descriptions of the main agencies in Canada, the US and internationally. We’ve also included their addresses, and links to their own sites. The CMRRA site in particular is jam-packed with information, and is pretty easy to follow.

CMRRA
The Canadian Musical Reproduction Rights Agency Ltd. is Canada's largest music licensing agency, representing more than 30,000 music publishers and copyright owners. CMRRA is the agency responsible for collecting royalties from the record companies or other companies selling CDs, videos, cassettes, etc.

one more thing, does anyone know who is behind third and lex entertainment????

thats a tka thing, but who is behind it??

Well...

Third and Lex is\was actually a publishing company owned by Mr. Joey Gardener. Entertainment? I do not know. 😕
Aby on the other hand I'm not free to comment until we deal with all those who are involved. It should be interesting to say the least.

Fans

As fans you guys don't need to be tied up in the legalities of these records anyway. If you feel the urge, buy it and enjoy it. That is the way things go. It's no fault of yours that the material is out there. You won't get any subpoena's from our lawyers when the sh*t hits the fan. So if you are a fan of Aby, who is a wonderful talent. Purchase his goods. If you want authenticity, you know your alternatives.

Look out for some news on TKA in the very near future.

Re: Fans

kenny i just said that cause i know its not that hard to obtain a license to reproduce music...it is very possible that the album is legal:blah

and ty u should know better then that!!!! LMAO:shakinboo

I wait couple of days and nobody seems to give me a real answer. So, I insist... :blah

What do you think about this?

Only permission from the publisher is required for legally releasing a re-make.

SO?

What do you think guys!

So, my question is: Who is the publisher for TKA songs?

If somebody can answer to my simple question, it will be cool. I won't have any other question...:read
