I was originally going to post this in everything else/shout outs but since it does include a poem, I am posting it here in lyrics/poems.
A while back, I was going through some rough times & I turned to my Cf family. 2 members in particular encouraged me to write poetry. Those 2 members were SexyAngel & Destiny.
While on my poetry kick, I submitted a Poem in a contest on poetry.com. I thought nothing of it, my life went back to normal, well kinda & I stopped writing.
The other day I got a letter in the mail from poetry.com. It seems that they are publishing a new book (which is tentatively called "Letters from the Soul") and they are including my poem! If you go to poetry.com & do a search for Dawn Ewald (yeah, yeah i wrote this before my divorce was final LOL) you will see my poem.
Staring at this Artist's proof & reading the letter, I was, and still am in shock that something so morbid would be recognized by the international library of poetry & be published!
I wanted to give my deepest heartfelt thanks to both SexyAngel & Destiny for their continued support of me & to all other members that have always had my back.
Below is the actual poem (some of you may remember parts of it from an old post here on CF), but beware, it is quite morbid:
MY LAST APOLOGY
I'm sorry this hurts you
But please understand
I'm not worth a dime
I've lost everything I had
I'm in love with a girl
One who doesn't love me
So now time has come
To take my own life, you see?
I wish I could change things
And make everything alright
But I'm getting old now
I've lost all my will to fight
My one dying wish
Is for you to forgive me
And let my baby know
This is my last apology
