Why not mix mainstream music with freestyle music on a radio station? Do "use" (you all) think that freestyle will get more attention?
 
well why wouldn't they? Are freestyle artists making music videos these days? If we make it a high demand, then we'll get somewhere!
 
Its expensive to do a video these days. Especially with the shoe string budget these artists, label and managers are working with, its very, very hard to compete with the fancy videos of today.
 
I agreew ith Kenny. Unless it can get advertise in a more noticable way to attract people who like other music.
 
Ok. Well in your opinion, how much do you think it costs to make a music video thats to the point with no special effects? And then with the effects? and then the airplay... How to push it onto the music networks.

VH1 is also known for playing a couple freestyle songs:

and more that just cant come to mind!?!

Well, I just started a web-bassed radio station called WMRK! At first, I played top 40 to attract listeners. Then I got fed-up with listening to other music and less freestyle. So now I play a few mixes and some songs here and there. I wish I had more acapellas so I can make somewhat of a guitar or acoustic version. or even pop!

Im not really sure what it costs but if you compare PINK'S "your just like a pill" and compare it to a video from a decade earlier you can see that there was alot more money put into PINK'S. Im not sure the small freestyle labels can afford such an expensive investment.

yes, but the song is almost 2 decades old. we dont need them supporting music from the ELECTRONICA genre. we need support for the music of today.
 
Then I say we contribute to it some how. why not start a poll to see what people think, and then if everything is positive (or mostly), then every one try to make a donation to make freestyle videos. Yeah, I know it sounds a little far-fetched but then think about how many visitors come to this site who want freestyle to live with all of their hearts!!!
 
The thing about mixxing freestyle w/ some of the current hits is that there's a pretty big difference in BPM's (beats per minute). A lot of the freestyle songs are a lot slower. Perhaps if the BPM's were faster on freestyle it would be easier to mix. You can always speed up the freestyle songs but who wants to hear freestyle sung by chipmunks? Ya feel me on that? That's why when I do mix freestyle on the radio, I just do a whole freestyle set instead of combining it w/ other music genres.

Like if Jive Records were to sign a freestyle artist, the changes that they would make to the sound of freestyle will be a tragedy. Then FReestyle wont be freestyle, it would be POP, rather POOP.
Cynthia would have a Britney spears sound, and coro would be singing to NSYNC beats.

We need to keep freestyle sort of underground. KTU play freestyle alot, but they dont play any freestyle that was made after 1991. That sucks.

Freestyle needs support from us fans. Buy freestyle albums, dont download every song you want. Thats how you show support.

You have a really good point there. And I knever thought about the type of changes that they would actually make. But note that I was refering to freestyle "MUSIC". the music, you can't change. Cause then It will be something else. freestyle "music" is not freestyle "music", unless it's all "FREESTYLE MUSIC"!

Even I have the technology to prevent that. I can sing at 30bpm, and put my vocals to a song thats 178bpm.

speaking of which, I can let you download the software for that if you need it! 🙂

Thanks...but I have the programs to do things like that. The thing is we mix LIVE on the radio using turntables, it's not pre-recorded. If it was, I'd incorporate some of them programs to keep the vocals the same key.
