I wanted to share this with everyone, as I think you should all see how freestyle represents when it comes to the ratings. Arbitron sends the stations individual hour-by-hour breakdowns, so I inquired with Jeff Z at KTU how my mixshow on Sundays was doing. The numbers speak for themselves...

Whoever said nobody listens to freestyle anymore...well...here's the big middle finger to all of them:

no need to congratulate me guys, this is all about all of YOU and me thanking YOU all for making those numbers a reality. I would be doing it if 10 people were listening, but this is more than I could have hoped for

Congrats! I, like you, know that people listen to freestyle. I've seen it with the two dance radio stations I have worked at. Unfortunately, you and I are among the few that get a chance to see this since most labels/PD's/stations are not willing to play it. With the crappy dance stations like Energy 92.7/101.1 Arizona, the old KXDC? in Denver, the old Groove Radio in L.A., and others that never really gave freestyle a chance, it's hard. You can't see the listeners' reactions unless you play it. And you, like us have, and we've seen the results. Now if some of the clueless programmers out there in the dance radio world would stop trying to play their underground, vocal-less, or even plain just crappy vocal dance songs with no hook, and stop trying to be too hip and impress their club friends, and actually play some freestyle, maybe we would see new and old freestyle a little better off, (as well as their ratings). You get ratings with hit vocal dance songs with good hooks for the masses, not the repetitive club beats that will attract a loyal following of a handful of people. While they can be vocal about it, they mean nothing compared with the average listener out there of which there are thousands more to pull in. We're bringing a freestyle artist out here to California to perform and the calls have been endless for about 2 weeks straight. I guarantee you a fraction of the amount of people would come to see a trance or house act here. I've seen that happen in the area too. New York is definitely different so it won't be exactly the same since dance music is bigger out there in general, but one thing is for sure, freestyle is something that will work in many places in the U.S. Freestyle music are songs, not just tracks. I can't wait til the day I win the lotto and buy a station, program it with good vocal freestyle, house, trance, etc. and blow the ratings up like people never thought possible with a dance station. Oh yeah I better win the real big jackpot and be the only winner if I want to afford a station 😀

Awwww you're a sweetheart. I thank you for that because believe it or not that's MY favorite song and you're the ONLY one that plays it. So I personally thank you for that. 🙂 Keep it going babe! You're great!
