Just an idea I would like to know what others think?
I told Mickey about a brainstorm that I had and I wish I only thought of it before we handed the Nu Image cd art work into the pressing plant.
I told Mickey It would have been cool if inside the Nu Image album art work we had put the future releases of Micmac Records , such as Bangin Beats and 12 Inches of Micmac. Aswell as The NEW BadBoy Joe Megamix .
That way when someone buys the Nu Image cd , they don't have to go crazy looking for more of the same or simular sounding music.
It would be like cross promoting the genre. Imagine that different labels helping each other promote.
For example Nu Image does a show in PA and fans buy the Nu Image cd, and really enjoy the cd, but that cd was not enough, so they would see the info and the artwork of the Micmac coming releases and what ever other label we decided to put in the art work. The fans will now know where , how and when to purchase some same and simular music.
We would be helping another label promote their music and at the same time expose more new music to new fans.
You know how many fans we meet that say man Ive been looking for some new music and just can't find it around here.
Well each label would be increasing their chances of those fans finding new music.
I am no wizard and I certainly do not have all the right answers but I am always thinking of how we can help this music grow, and the bottom line is working together, but to do that everyone has to be on the same page and have the same goals and most importantly put out GREAT PRODUCT, no shortcuts.
I just thought it would be a great way to help cross promote the music itself no matter what label.
We are working in the studio on the 2nd Nu Image album and this is what we plan to do to help the music and other record labels.
Because the more people that have the msuic the more popular it can become.
The only catch is the music being promoted and label will have to have certain standards met, because this won't work unless all the labels are on the same page with the quality of the music and overall packaging of their product.
If we want to be taken seriously, we have to take our business seriously.
