the other thread about renacting a secne from the world trade center disaster..just made me think.. why hasnt a movie been made yet about one of the most historic events in our history?? i mean there allready working on a movie about some dumb ass nuerotic white bimbo..who didnt show to her wedding and had america "worried for her safety and well being" (i gotta stress that and keep it really real cause you know if that was a latina or a sista..that shit wouldnt have made even the local paper)

but really it would be very interesting to see a movie about that day..and before i here the rebutals as to "the respect for the dead and the families" please save it.. hollywood and the media never had that respect!!

theres gotta be some kind of agency preventing the production or release of such a movie dont you think??

second rebutal i allready hear coming is "is distasteful" why?? i think it would be very educational..I think we all need a reminder what went down..and that it isnt over..its a matter of time that something equally terrible or worse will happen sometime soon (any one who watches "24' the series sees all the different ways everytime you tune in..followed by the news explaining "new ways terrorist will strike" with such detail accuracy..that if the terrorist didnt allready think of it ..they laid it out for them in step by step...the other night they actually did a segment how to build a bomb with fertilizer you can pick up at any home depot..i was like great educational programming!!!! why not just set up a college campus right in your news studios for al queda soldiers!!!
 
its just really strange and also i cant remeber anybody ever asking the same thing i just was thinking?? hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I think the reason why because its too recent what happened. For many the memory is still fresh, at least for me. I look out the window out of my apartment and I see the city...quite empty not as before. They are gone...everytime I look that direction i think about what I saw that day...i couldnt believe. Everytime I go to city hall to shop at J&R...a certain part of that area I still feel the pain.

My take is again...its too recent perhaps, and until there is full rest and terrorism at an all time low, then perhaps Cameron, or Speilberg or any other movie director can create visually that horrific day on September 11th.
 
From what I understand, there is at least one 9/11 movie that will be shown on one of the 3 major networks in the fall..and I think it's a miniseries.

I can tell you for a fact that there is a film in the works about what happened aboard Flight 93 - the one that crashed in Pennsylvania - the script has been completed and it is in pre production.
 
i think it would be a good thing...give an understanding as to the events that led up to that day..what people were doing..how they each coverged on ground zero not knowing some many of them would perish and survivors would be changed forever along with the world...why there is so much hatred for america from many nantions not just the middleeast..i think we need an "in your face" OLIVER STONE type movie with no holds barred..we need a fuqin wake up call... when michael jackson is more important news then how many soldiers have died in the war to date over there.. i can relate i kinda hate my own country as well! when our youth are more interested in paris hilton then whats going on in our government or joining the armed forces (we are one of the few countries that does not make that a mandatory thing) were alot weaker then our government and the media will allow us to know

there a whole lot that happened that day then "some dudes that hijacked planes and flew them into buildings blowing up shit...cool man"

I agree with Enigma.. Not enough time has passed for some to accept it. I for one would go see the movie (if made) Like you said, it would give an understanding to the events that led up to that day. And as NVDis said It'll be done one day. They make movies about everything. Just have to wait for it.
 
I agree with what was said about it being too recent. I think though in time it will happen. I'm not saying I agree with it nor am I saying it's a bad idea, but I do think that if a movie is going to be done, more time needs to pass. I don't know if I would go see it though, because living through it up close and personal definitely changed me.
 
i respect that because i know you were right there when it was happening...but the reason i feel a need for it is exactly my concerns..we focus on things hat are far to trivial..and dont have the most common of sense in whats going down!!!...input a post up a few weks back about a terrorsist that was on a national watchlist that was actually on a paint detail on the george washington bridge!! lets play stupid class..how many kids feel this man is in the wrong place at the wrong time???? and the reaction was "nada: yawwn..let me see what gossip i can find!!! oh well nada...!!!
 
I couldn't sit through a movie version of 9/11 although I did find Fahrenheit 9/11 to be interesting
 
I think maybe it 'glamorizes" terrorism since they did score one for themselves that horrible day.. Just like the Oklahama bombing.. no movie was made of that and there was closure for that one since McVey was caught and put to death..

I go by there and its just an eerie feeling to see the empty area..

"This is really intended to be a very honest tribute to what by all accounts was an act of pretty incredible heroism," "It's a very moving and emotional story that we feel should be told."

NBC and ABC also have miniseries in the works revolving around the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, but A&E's movie will differ in that it focuses on a very specific incident. Nevin Shreiner is the writer.
