Police arrested an 8-year-old boy who allegedly had a violent outburst in school, head-butting his teacher and kicking an assistant principal, when he was told he couldn't go outside to play with other students.

The 4-foot pupil was led away from Rawls Byrd Elementary School in handcuffs Tuesday and charged with disorderly conduct and assault and battery.

"It's not something that happens every day," Maj. Stan Stout said of what could be the department's youngest arrest ever.

Stout said the chair-tossing, desk-turning outburst occurred after a teacher, and later the assistant principal, attempted to stop the boy from joining his classmates.

The child was later released to his parents.

Why didn't they just give the kid a detention :confused

Because tech if a student hits a teacher, he/she can press charges or something to that extent. This kid parents need to teach this kid some self control.

True...but here the child usually gets expelled from that skool and has to attend behaviour classes at another...but mind you it depends on the extent cuz if it's severe then I guess they would press charges

Well in New York they send a whole booklet on the different diciplinary action that would occur. I hope that with this the parents will take it seriously and try to figure out what the hell is going on.

I say take his little 8 yr old ass kick his ass and let him know that if he play himself like that again he can be buried in the back yard.

ahhh take my pic for parenting magazine i make the perfect mom! lmfaoo

I am not a parent yet as I have no kids...but lord have mercy I would not tolerate it. Either I knock some sense into him real good..or sell the lil mofo on Ebay.

He sounds like my lil' brother!!!

Except when my bro was that young, he did all that, & also spat in the face of his teachers & the principal. Trust me he got his ass-whopped by mom when we got back home, but he still continued doing it. & Today, that he is an adult, he still has anger-management issues & will explode on impact when confronted with any sort of authority. Or will fight over the stupidest thing.
I was in trouble alot in school too, but not as bad as him.

I swear he is in some sort of fight or arguement at leat once a week.
We almost got into it when we were at the hospital visiting my cuz last week. I was DYING to punch him in his face, ...but because of the circumstances, I kept it cute, & held it in.

I know your brothers type. I had one of those in my family but after getting in trouble so much throughout his life, he died at 24 yrs of age when he got hit by a bus in the Bronx.

Wow. I thought u were gonna say he got shot or something.
But I'm sure u know those types. (My family is full of 'em - lol).

I even have family members who are in their 50's & 60's who are STILL like that. They will fight with anyone over anything.
Just a few weeks ago, my older aunt (who is in her 60's) got into an fight with this girl (prob 19 or 20), Then came her mom & her older sister, & my aunt fought them too! My cuz had to come & break it up.
In her own words:
"A mi no me importa si soy vieja o que! Si se me' quadran, o me' faltan el respeto, que se preparen por que vamos a peliar! Punto y se' acabo!" - (LMAO!)

IN ENGLISH: "I don't care how old I am, if someone gets in my face, or disrespects me, they better be prepared cuz we're fightin'! And that's that! Case closed!"

Unfortunately, kids today are displaying this type of behavior alot. This child getting arrested is not going to help because he will be released after a couple of hours to his parents. I think parents have a big role on how their children act and I also think that if a child does this in public to a teacher or another peeer, he/she should spend a week in a detention center to realize how serious their behavior is. This is just a small opinion because the issues could be greater.

All of these kids today are copy cats! NO other way to put it. And that's why they all continue to do stupid things and think it's cool. As a parent, I keep on top of my children. When they're in school, I make it my business to find out everything including if they get a little scratch and want to know why. You have to be a part of your childrens lives whether they want you to be or NOT. And by the time, they're a certain age, they don't want you to know anything about what they're doing, who their friends are, etc. My kids can't play that with me.

Sonya, detention would've never helped. If anything, it would make the child prob more aggressive. & If they gave them suspension, they'd just be giving into him as that's what they would rather have - not be in school.

(I know "I" personally NEVER stayed for any of my detentions. (Plzz!) - lol).

& Spyboy, sometimes them meds they give them can sometimes make them worse or even suicidal. I've seen it.
