I'm good, how are you??? How is Angie?? Hey, I am heading your way this weekend. My cousin is getting married in Harrisburgh Saturday.

The days of breakdancing and playing out side in the pump. Block parties, house parties and first love(s). LOL! There was no one complaining about the details of a song, they just enjoyed it. I was only a shorty, but I remember it like yesterday. Thanks ULTIMIX for taking me back!

i was 17 and the only club i can get into was avanti's on bell blvd in queens, new york and crusin on francis lewis blvd in my z28 blasting freestyle music.. those were the days, how i miss it so.🙁

I was about the same age...18...those were the days!! Crusin in the Z...blasting the Freestyle....BIG HAIR....Cavarrici's...Hot 103.

Sure rub it in Jazzy....LOL. You were only seven...LOL.

Actually, I am glad I am the age I am cause I experienced Freestyle at its height. I was old enough to get into clubs and I got to see many acts that are no longer together and who I never will have the chance to see nowadays.

did you move away from P.A?

Hey Ted..Congratulations!! I didnt realize that you guys were expecting.

No, I have lived in NY all my life. My cousin moved there years ago and his wife to be is from there.

A bunch of you just took me back to some great times. I did Avanti's also because I was too young to get in anywhere else. I also was able to get into Silver Screen's in Astoria and Metro 700 in Franklin Square...
I did the cruising on Francis Louis (Franny Lou) with my big hair, in my hooked up, rims, tinted windowed, booming system Grand Prix (don't forget the bow hanging from the rearview mirror.. Couldn't hear a thing cause your windows were half down and your music was loud and bassed enough to be heard from blocks away..LOL
The music though, when you hear it, it is a reminder of someone or something you were doing in your life back then. For almost every Freestyle song I hear I think oh this was so in so's break up song or so in so hooked up to this song ...

You totally said what I feel. No respect to the younger people out there but Freestyle was an EXPERIENCE it just wasnt music. It was a whole culture. I am glad that the younger people out there appreciate Freestyle but I just dont think you could possible grasp what it was like to live it when it wa happening.

And you are right Evaz...every song I hear has a memory attatched to it.

OH MY GOD I FORGOT ABOUT THE BOW HANGING FROM YOUR REARVIEW MIRROR AND HOW ABOUT ASTORIA PARK. GUYS IN THEIR MOTORCYCLES.. OH OH THE GREEN PARROT ON NORTHERN BLVD IN BAYSIDE BUT THAT WAS 1984 THAT WAS WHERE I FIRST SEEN TKA PERFORMING.:cparty

I think The Green Parrot is what became Avanti's.
Yes I spent many a night down in Astoria Park (with my Greek girlfriends of course).
There was a club on the way to the park called Pappagallo's we were never able to get into.
I cannot remember my first performer we went to see. I think I was 14 going to one of those teen nights.
