Lol thats a nice way to put it.Every year there are less and less freestyle acts. Special Ed on a freestyle bill? I wonder what the logic for old school hip hop acts and house acts to be on a freestyle bill. Could it be that the freestyle acts can not sell out on their own? I find that hard to believe. Sounds more like a business decision.

Because of the way it's being promoted and the types of promoted concerts beforehand, "Freestyle Concerts" is changing from being of the old Freestyle sound to a synonym for "oldies concerts" featuring many artists who only had a few hits, and who specialize in dance and / or hip-hop. As the decade ends people will start wanting to see the 90s acts as well as the 80s acts.

Technically, the "hard core" Freestyle fans are a minority to these concerts. These shows are the equivalent of "oldies concerts", similar to what people like Bowzer do for the remaining 50s and 60s acts. There is no shame in this. In fact, most people will likely pay for these shows if they mix it up a little bit. If you put the exact same line-up on 4 shows in a row it's likely to get less people involved.

Why call it a "freestyle reunion" when clearly it is not. There's a thing call truth in advertising.It should be call an "old school" show. This is just another way freestyle artists get screwed over if you ask me.

These are all the old school artists. Nobody is going to pay that much money to see any new school acts perform at Madison Square Garden. Heck you can barely get people to listen to them sing at bars in Brooklyn with a $5 cover charge!

No people won't coming for the new school acts at msg, but they are available fairly cheap compared to these other acts. And by booking some of those it will get them some exposure so if they put on a decent show, more people would go see them at a bar in brooklyn or any other place, even msg the following year. I would rather see some of those than cece penniston or C&C which I believe is only one of the the original cause the other has passed. there are better fillers than the ones they are choosing.

the only thing on that line up that interests me is Fascination. Although I've seen her perform before, I would love to see her perform on MSG stage. As far as the other freestyle acts, I love them and always have supported them but I cant sit through that show with that lineup to include the rap artists. Another thing, if Cynthia or George Lamond would sing something else from their extensive catalog, other than the same 4 songs they do at every concert, I might consider it.
And someone mentioned they would love to see Corina...so would I. That would be great. But it seems that everytime I hear anything about her, it's her bitching on some blog about how she got screwed over in her heyday. Yeah, well I bet if you ask anyone on that line up, they've been screwed over at some point in their career too. But they carry on and give the FANS what they want-with a smile on their face-while they hold day jobs. I've heard a ton of people over the years, including myself, ask for a Corina performance. Her and Lisette had the highest charting singles on the top 40. She should be performing.

Stop being the nail and be the hammer for once in your life..finally do something that will recognize you are a player in the industry and not the poseur that you had shown me to be.
