i feel danny vargas of the vargas brothers (two without hats producer) was way over looked, he did a lot of vocals and background vocals, he sang on crying over you all the 2 without hats records and sang the hook on within my heart by voyce and never was givien credit if he would of recorded his demos with serious intent he would of put a hurting on the freestyle world.

i also agree that monet was well overlooked, i remember chris barbosa tell me in 1987 that she was gonna be the next shannon, or even bigger..
 
If there is anyone deserving of the title King of Freestyle then it would be Tony Moran. I'm not into titles so let's skip that but lets take a look at his resume.

One of the founders of this sound. His edits as part of the Latin Rascals is legendary till this day. When you think of freestyle-edits make freestyle stand out from other genres.

His mix show as part of the Latin Rascals on 92 KTU help bring the Electro emerging Latin Hip Hop/Freestyle sound to the masses.

He helped produced,write,remix some of the biggest freestyle records ever.

His own music as part of the Latin Rascals and his own solo work are classic to say the least.

The man can sing,dance,produce,write,made edits an art form. Anything else I'm missing?

Other than Carlos Berrios, I know of no one who was a stronger advocate for the freestyle movement.

And now of course he is very accomplished as a House producer.

Currently, the most overlooked artist is Tony G. This guy can write and sing his ass off! His new album us straight up fire.

I'll go on the record right now and say no other freestyle cd will be better than his this year.

Anyone want to challenge that?
 
unfortunately freestyle music as a whole never got the credit it deserved...so a good number of artist/producers etc that made the music realy good.... never got the credit they deserved either....

...and you forgot to write that "in your opinion" Tony G has the best music out there.

you can be the best in what you do, but if you lose the trust or support system of those who are behind you or into you then there is no politics there it falls all on you as a person, and how you handle your wheeling and dealings.
