Hmmmmmm.......Well guys it seems like everyone here has GREAT POINTS & VIEWS on why FREESTYLE Doesn't get the respect it deserves.....

On why some ARTISTS go up on stage not even making half the effort to look good or even try to have a descent show routines...


I personally can tell you my VIEWS and they are not from a HE SAID SHE SAID they are strictly from experience... I truly have seen a few things up close to understand why WE AS FREESTYLE DANCE ARTISTS have half the problems we do....

FOR STARTERS, there isn't enough UNITY!!!!-----WE SIMPLY DO IT TO OURSELVES!!!! I can actually leave it at that because that REALLY SUMS IT UP!!!!

But because I have grown tired of all the NON-SENSE I see I can't help but to indulge a little in HOPE THAT MY FELLOW FREEESTYLE DANCE ARTISTS/FANS/PRODUCERS/etc. read it and draw some conclusions in FAVOR of becoming a more POSITIVE MUSCLE in directing the MOVEMENT of FREESTYLE DANCE MUSIC to be again NOTICED RESPECTFULLY!!!

OK....here it goes-------What can you say when presently you have the likes of Nelson "FFWD" Cruz producing, arranging, and simply putting together a PROJECT that many of us know as "ARTISTS AGAINST TERRORISM" for the tragedy that has taken place on 9/11.... & after having 3 recording sessions all on different dates and in some cases the dates have been changed to cater to some ARTISTS who will go unmentioned here and yet don't show up... The same ARTISTS that cry and B#tch about why they don't get the respect they deserve and have the nerve to walk around with their NOSES in the air even towards other FREESTYLE DANCE ARTISTS!!! WHAT IS THAT ALL ABOUT!!!????? THAT'S WACK!!!

Granted some of these ARTISTS have given us some GREAT MUSIC but HEY if we all don't stick together which we don't then we can't expect this all to last or EVOLVE into anything GREATER!!!

In addition MANY have wondered why they haven't seen me PERFORM as I should be... MY ANSWER is that because I don't have the ACCESSBILITY to the MASTERs whom MIC MAC are in possession and we all know the problems they have brewing..So it leaves me unable to easily make a show tape worth listening to.....I PROMISED MYSELF that coming back into the BUSINESS I would have more control of my MUSIC and show tapes so that I can give my 100 % to the fans on stage vocally and performance wise....I TRULY BELIEVE some of us need to WORK HARD at this... and yet it seems as if it goes on DEAF EARS... When I have asked directly PRODUCERS ( as in 1 or 2 ) to help me in this case they have a MILLION and one excuses as to why they don't have the time... IS IT HATE/Jealousy/ WHAT!!!?????..... ...Hmmm.....I am not sure.......but lack of UNITY comes more to mind... ...

I do nothing MORE to voice my opinions and thoughts with the idea of pushing us all forward....

CASE IN POINT======Some of you have probably heard in the last couple of months a PROJECT that JACK G and myself were planning to do... A Project that would help promote FREESTYLE DANCE ARTISTS via your ANSWERING MACHINES!!!

The PROJECT goes as follows====We the ARTISTS would record 15 to 20 second spots so that the FANS or anyone interested would be able to download them from CLUBFREESTYLE and place on their ANSWERING MACHINES... ARTISTS would have the time to say who they are while their MUSIC NEW OR OLD would be playing in the background.... This would give US the ARTISTS an OPPORTUNITY to PROMOTE OURSELVES to OLD AND NEW FANS/PEOPLE!!! & It would give the FANS an OPPORTUNITY to have their FAVORITE ARTISTS on their ANSWERING MACHINES.....

Now some make think less of this but it seems everyone who has heard of it has LOVED the idea... The ARTISTS THEMSELVES who I have approached personally were GUNG HO!!! SO I ASK WHERE ARE these recordings for you the FANS to download... Your guess is as good as mine!!! With the EXCEPTION of several ARTISTS who are waiting for me to set up a STUDIO DATE so that we can get some recording done it seems as if everyone else doesn't care enough to make a difference!!!

So my fellow CLUBFREESTYLERS even though I am on the Down Low at times...rest assure I am constantly trying to make things happen.... & not until many of us on the inside cut the BULLSH#T with HATING On EACHOTHER and being all TALK AND NO ACTION FREESTYLE WILL REMAIN LIFELESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

TO ME IT SEEMS AS IF FREESTYLE HAS BEEN TRYING TO HANG ON WITH THE ARTIST THAT DO GO OUT THERE AND DO THERE THING AND THE FANS THAT SUPPORT IT, BUT IN ORDER TO MAKE FREESTLYE WHAT IT USE TO BE THERE HAS TO BE SOME KIND OF SUPPORT AND UNITY WITHIN THE INDUSTRY TO KEEP IT ALIVE NOT JUST WHEN THERE IS A CONCERT. I LISTEN TO OTHER MUSIC AS WELL FOR EXAMPLE HIP-HOP ARTIST ARE CONSTANTLY SUPPORTING EACH OTHER FEATURING EACH OTHER ON TRACKS AS WELL AS FEATURING NOT SUCH WELL KNOWN ARTIST, GRANTED THERE IS ALWAYS GOING TO BE SOME BS GOING ON BUT IN THE END THERE MUSIC IS BEING HEARD. IF YOU LOVE WHAT YOU DO SUPPORT OTHERS WHO DO THE SAME. I COMMEND PRODUCERS SUCH AS NELSON AND WILLIE V FOR DOING THERE THING FOR THE ARTIST WHO GO OUT THERE AND SHOW SUPPORT FOR FELLOW ARTIST. You are 100% right but there's more to it, In order to Freestyle Music becomes more stronger, We need people to have time to listen to the new artists, We can't stay in the 80's any more, we need to move forward, and when I say this is because I have surf the internet and diferent websites and all you read is about the same artist all the time. There's not much support for the new ones, People have to understand that alot of this artists don't want to continue doing Freestyle, Its so sad to say that alot of them don't want to be called FREESTYLE Artists, I guess is because maybe they have their on reason, I don't know. But what really bothers me is that they talk so much sh** about the music, and mean while you see them performing and getting paid for their performances.

My opinion and what I have seen its incredible but the fans are still supporting those artist in diferent ways, But those artist don't even care about the fans, mean while new recording artist from different labels love the music and care about the fans and the freestyle fans don't even care or take a moment to check a new recording artist.

90% of the people are sick and tired of hearing the same songs,
so we can't balme people if the loose interest on listening to freestyle.

It's Nothing about the music, every music (genre) has its own original sound- for example if you listen to salsa is all the same beat same instruments but diferent melody, if they change the sound then its no longer salsa.

When you hear a song you can I dentify it because of the beat and sound. I tell you this because people have discuss and mention so many things about this music, trying to figure what really happend- If anyone wanted to know what really happend and never had a straight or a right answer by reading this post will get the information that was always in your mind:

It took me almost few years to get to know the 80's Freestyle Artist and interview them, Not even one told me a diferent story, all of them told me the same exact line, Mic Mac this and that...
so I did have a conclusion base on the story I got from the artist, but mind you some of the artist have doudts and dont trust labels or anyone anymore. because of their past what they went trought just to be know. But like Chrissy I-eece say I always have an answer, I do say if the bad theres good, None of this artist have sit down and think that you learnd from your mistakes, I they had a bad expirience, they have to look back and see that aleast from that bad expirience it made a name for them.
I always tried to look in the positive way in things that happends in life.

Now this are some ansnwers I have ( my conclusion ) on why freestyle lost alot of strenght:

1.No Promotion involved. No TV comercial adverstisement

2.The Artist Keeps performing the same songs without promotiing and new song, people just change to listen to other types of music.

3.Some Labels or managers abuse alot of freestyle artists and never paid them what it was due to them shows , royatlies sales. (Would you continue working in a job that don't pay you?) I know your answer.

4.It was never about the music or buble gum music like some people says.

5.Another conclusion I have is that yes alot of artist were very
stuck up. so I say 50% is the labels fault and 50% The Artist.

6.I have to mention this to you Cjay, I don't really think is about sticking together or only supporting each other, because in other types of music people are the same too they don't support each other some yes some don't. I think that the major problem is that promoters of manager dont promote freestyle where its not known. Freestyle cannot be limited it should also be promoted in diferents ways, I specially see it this way, In order for freestyle be more stronger we need to cover all areas and ages not only where Freestyle its known,we need to built a foundation new fans.

I like to perfom where Freestyle Music was never heard becuase is like I am introduing this music to those who never knew what freestyle is. If I am performing my songs and people likes it then I have made my job complete in that moment or event because then I am satistfy knowing that they will start to listen to the music. You be surprise if I tell you that in mexico don't really know what freestyle is they taught it was pop music, and now we have a major station supporting the music, with all the respect to KTU, KTU its not the only station in the world that can play freestyle, so if there's any artist reading take my advise it would only help you. Don't stick the negative people or wiht people that are tired of freestyle, always meet new people and show them our music.

That's why I wanted to called the first compilation on my label "LA NUEVA GENERACION (The new Generation) we need them too.

I hope this post made anyone look at things more clear.

I have to disagree with you on that one. I see alot of artists out there performing thier new songs when they doing thier music. I have seen Nyasia, Noel, TKA and a whole lot more freestyle artists doing it.

I FEEL THAT THE ARTISTS NEED TO GET TOGETHER & WORK TOGETHER TO MAKE SOME NOISE OUT THERE.. LIKE CJAY SAID ABOUT NELSON'S "ARTISTS AGAINST TERRORISM" PROJECT.. But also Freddy Have some views on that, I've learn from my mistake and maybe yes i'm not the say Lanation/Latin Nation That I was and that is do to NOT HAVING MY BROTHERS WITH ME! Life and music doesn't feel the same it doesn't taste the same. But Why do I continue to do it? Why Did I struggle to put my album together? Because I love this music regardless how down it is. If everybody will take some time to think on why your here maybe we can all work with fine and maybe, just maybe do some noise. I mean this year started like crap, but how many shows have there been of Freestyle Concert all around the country? Many and I think it will grow, but lets put some more into and give the new kats as well the oldschoolers a chance to promote new MUSIC!! Cjay you have my respect and I got your back 100% and everybody that knows me knows I don't back down. As For Nelson I apoligize for not showing up to the 2nd nor the 3rd after I promise you I will, I have alot of issues that i'm still resolving.
