overall I didn't think it was that great of a show..... it was ok, but definitely not "off the hook" like Freestyle Explosion was.... off the top of my head I'd say Lisa Lisa, Judy Torres, and Angelo Venuto were the best performances of the night.... 🙂

i just got back from BEATSTOCK in jersey and i had fun. cool show although this year some parts of the show (as seitz mentioned above) was a "lil off"....i gotta go to bed so i cant give a review, but i just wish Judy torres would do the original version of "come into my arms" again.the house mix is cute but im tired of listening to it year after year!

What was a little off about the show? Come on people who went, tell us! (Or tell me since I'm dying to know lol).

Beatstock in NY

Beatstock was great Reina, Lisa Lisa,Judy Torres,Lucas Prata were all awesome. I have to be upfront I have for almost 4 years have gone to the party 105 megajam and enjoyed it more. What I did not like was all the performers only did one song and the tickets were not inexpensive especially with the ticketmaster surcharges. I liked though how MC Hammer got out into the crowd though. There were tee shirts thrown out into the crowd which was cool. The mc's of KTU could have dome less talking though. Thank you KTU for keeping it real though. Has anyone heard if Collage is still around?

Here's a couple of quick opinions, from both shows.

If I have to hear those DJs stroke their ego's anymore, I'm going to get sick. How many "Jersey in the house?", "Latinos in the house?", and 'which side is louder' crap anymore, I'm going to get sick. Every break was that silly garbage.

Now to what some people want to hear. I'll give a few opinions, too many to write.

Coro - Good show, but the same 3 songs every single time I see him (Can't Let You Go, Where Are you Tonight? and Fallen Angel). I've seen him perform at about 10 shows and only once in 1995 (about) he sand "Stand By Your Lover". Can't he do this song? or that newer song he did around '98, someone here will remember it. I know I have the record with the green cutting records logo on it.

Rockell - Very good, but her did a medly of about 5 songs. I would have loved to have heard more than 2 minutes of L.O.V.E, which the crowd was completely clueless on. Damn people only listen to the radio, which I'll get into later. She performed well, but definitely deserves another 5 minutes of stage time. She's got more than 5 hits.

Information Society - Very good, but the crowd was lost with these guys. It's true they were a little 'new wave like', however most people didn't know "Pure Energy", although they did know Running. I guess when you are 7 or 8 when the song comes out, and KTU doesn't play it, you aren't going to know it. I was hoping for Walking Away, and Think, but maybe I'm too greedy 🙂

Hammer, or MC Hammer to some - This guy has a bigger ego than "Jeans only" wearing Goumba Johnny. In Long Island he opened with some song I didn't know, and you could barely here his voice. The second song, I think was "Here Comes the Hammer", not sure don't quote me. In LI he got booed during this one as he walked in the crowd. NJ he didn't do the first LI song, but started with this. Then comes Pumps and a Bump, he did alright with this, but the crowd wasn't too excited in LI, a little better in NJ. Then come "U Can't touch this" - updated a bit with a funkier hook. Both crowds seemed to like this, but the song was shortened. That's it. Where is "Pray"? Where is "Too Legit to Quit"? KTU played that one around noon on Friday. Very disappointed with Hammer. I guess we need those shiny pants, instead of the white, with green stripe Adidas sweats.
MC was the closing act on LI, and got downgraded to a few acts before closing in NJ. If he did his core 4 songs, and maybe the shiny pants, he would have been great. He needs to remember, we are there to see 'the past' Hammer.

More feedback later.

Well, i went to both shows. FOr the Jones beach i was in the audience for most of the night until GM MEllie Mel, thats when I went backstage. For PNC i was packstage the whole night.

Some songs you need to be in the audience ot experience. Angelo Venuto and the such need to experiecned in tehc rowd because you feel the vibe of everyone jumping and dancig. Backstage was awesome, as most of the artists were really nice and curtious. Judy Torres, Lisa Lisa, Sylver, Reina, and Lucas Prata were awesome. p***y Cat Dolls, are real nice too and they really got eh crowd goin. Deborah Cox was great as well, and k7 got the crowd goin.

DHT are bette on the radio as well as a few of the other artists who only dd one song, and would be ncie to hear new songs from them.

Lastly, i jsut wanna say Lisa Lisa is awesome! Shes the nicest person and was so cool to hang out with. Everyone with her was cool too.

I remember YEARS ago... KTU had a Dance Factory Live show in Long island.. The tickets cost me $17. the show started at 3pm.. they had the disco poeple (tramps, etc..), the Freestyle poeple (Judy, coro, k7, goerge lamond , etc..) and the Dance poeple..(amber, Veronica, etc) Yo, we left at 11 something and the show was STILL going on!
K7 did his act alone.. then TKA came out 3 acts later and performed without him. I think it was the last time I saw George Lamond do his great Stage show with Choreography... Judy TORE it UP!, Coro too... Lil Suzy was lookin hot... It was a GREAT SHOW... ahhh memories... not bad for $17 and the 3,034,634,194 Mile drive to Long island.. lol

The problem with KTU's shows now is that they book the shows, but they want the newest people, and some of them only have one hit, so you are paying to see a bunch of one hit wonders.....

If they supported new songs by artists like Amber, Mynt, and the freestyle acts, they could devote more time to the acts with more hits.....

The only new dance acts in recent times to get more than one new hit on KTU are Tina Ann and Reina.

LisCyn put on the hottest show of the freestyle bunch. they tore it up with their dancers, i wish cynthia did more of her classics instead of just "love me tonight" and "change on me" but it was a hot show.
TKA/K7 always steal the show man. i love these guys to the end. i luv it when K7 threw himself in the audience.
i love how INFORMATION SOCIETY did "running".i havent heard them perform that in years.
PUSSYCAT DOLLS put on a hot show, they had the whole crowd up and dancing~!
REINA always puts on a great show. i luv her!
DEBORAH COX, is one of my favortie artist. always a pleasure to see her do her thing. her new song is hot!!
i had a lot of fun but i wish they would include some of the dance acts later on through out the night instead of back to back at 6pm sharp. i missed a whole bunch of them like narcotic thrust, sharp, lucas prata and stonbridge. since we were waiting outside in that long ass line ugh~!
mad luv
