I could use everyone's help with this question -

i need to know what radio station or stations play freestyle/dance music in your area. Could you please tell me the stations call letters (ex:wktu) and the town & state your in, also if you know the website address that would really help.

This information would be greatly appreciated and would be used towards our goal of bringing freestyle back on the radio.

MANY, MANY THANKS !😎

KTU....no wisecracks now!!! It was asked, so I answered!!! Hey, remember when even WPLJ 95.5 used to play Stevie B and some of the "softer, pop-friendly" freestyle?? I remember they used to speed it up alot too....never knew why!!

Well, I'm not in the US, but I'll give the info anyway. 🙂
Here, the most Freestyle/Dance comes out of Z103.5 and it's sister station Foxy 88.5. We've got a 1hr Freestyle show every Sunday from 5-6PM EST on Z103.5.

its even worse in my area man!

in DC its Z104.1, which is crossover pop-type radio. so i gotta listen to that Nsync, Creed, Backstreet Boy mess in order to hear some freestyle every now & then. it sucks cuz im used to hearin freestyle wit hip hop/r&b & house (cuz of hot97) i dont really like to much pop or rock music. "in a dream" still gets played like it came out yesterday. so does "take me in your arms". basically only freestyle that got to much play to begin with! no old school. EVER!

or WPGC, which is r&b/hip hop, but they will only play popular old school records that were popular wit r&b music like "let the music play", "i wonder if i take you home", or "when i hear music". and it's only during the old school lunchtime mixes or when they do a flashback.

there's no in between! freestyle is not popular down here!

hot ktfm 102.7 in san antonio would play classic freestyle in their noon time mixx shows (coro, cover girls, tka etc..)and they started spinning freestyle on the "10'oclock thunderstorm"..i heard rosalinda,,robin fox, tka, vla adrianna(her song got regular rotation) and some other new stuff..everything was going good up until about 8 months ago when a hip-hop radio station came to town (98.5 tha beat)now they have switched their format completely ..now all that they play is rap😡 ...i hope san antonio gets a new dance radio station soon..🙁

NYC THANK GOD FOR BUDZ!

Johnny Budz hits us off a few times a week in NYC over at KTU 103.5 with excellent mixes as always...but besides from sporadic airings of played out freestyle classics, ktu isnt really consistent (budz aside...muah budz) with the freestyle like they wwere back in the day (hot 97 played freestyle, and the ORIGINAL KTU 92.3 is alterna-rock nowadays)
ohhhhhhhhhh MEMORIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIES!!🙁

HMMMMMM WELL THERE IS ONLY ONE IN MY AREA THAT I KNOW OF. www.wild949.com kyld ANYWAYS THEY SUPPORT AND REPERESENT FREESTYLE. JUST RECENTLY THEY HAD SAFIRE AND JUST LAST WEEK THEY HAD THE COVER GIRLS PERORM AT THEIR CLUB. CLUB WILD 🙂 OH AND THE STATION IS LOCATED IN SAN FRANCISCO.

BELIEVE ME, THEY ALWAYS HEAR MY BIG MOUTH REQUESTING FREESTYLE IN THEIR MIXES........ETC 😀

ANYWAYS I HOPE I WAS OF SOME HELP!!

I told you philly peeps ...

If you WANT to hear FREESTYLE on the radio in South Jersey (very close to PHILLY), you can listen to 'The Buzz' ... on 99.3 and 105.5 -- yes, they have TWO frequencies. The 99.3 one covers the Atlantic City (Atlantic County Area) .. and 105.5 covers Wildwood, Cape May, etc (Cape May County Area) ... yes, they are mainly a JERSEY SHORE station, but the signal on 99.3 carries PRETTY far.

And YES -- if you try hard enough, you CAN get this station in Philly, and just over the bridge into Southern NJ .. for the PAST 2 days, I've had EXCELLENT reception, in my car, IN PHILLY on 99.3 ...

The Buzz has been on the air since February of 1999 and have ALWAYS had freestyle IN ROTATION. You will hear at LEAST 2 songs an hour, every day .. all day .. maybe MORE sometimes -- both new and OLD school -- but, mainly the classics. Also, you can hear even MORE during their "Lost and Found Lunch Show" -- every day from 12-1 pm ...

They are one of the few STRAIGHT UP DANCE STATIONS IN THE COUNTRY !!! And, they are classified as such ... playing ALL types of dance music, INCLUDING a GOOD amount of FREESTYLE/CLUB ...

99.3 The Buzz

Dez, is the man for bringing this to all the philly peeps. I was in Ocean City last week and I tuned into 99.3 per Dez information and of course it is PHAT! On my ride home I lost it on Rt.42 Blackwood area, it was a cloudy day and I haven't tried to get it since but this is the best freaking station I have heard in forever.
