What's the difference between.................

someone being listed as a "track performer", and someone being listed as "vocals"? I'm not talking background vocals either - that much I get.

Ok, to make things short and simple..... Vocals would be from a group effort while track performer is named as a featured guest instead of being named as having full ownership of the particular track. They could also interchange. It's almost the same.
