It depends on what you consider freestyle. Some people will say "Planet Rock" by Afrikaa Bambataa, but not everyone considers it freestyle.

Most people will agree that the first TRUE freestyle song (containing all the elements that make a song freestyle) is SHANNON - "Let The Music Play". NAYOBE's "Please Don't Go" is another candidate.

Again, it depends on each person's definition of freestyle.

I'm gonna have to go with "I Wonder If I Take You Home". But "Please Don't Go" is a close second. Neck and neck. But I don't consider any of those early 80's electro and hip hop tracks true freestyle. They work within the genre, but they don't define it as Lisa and Nayobe did.
