There is something that I have on my mind and perhaps by participating in this poll and replying with any comments can help me on future projects.

Whenever I start a new Freestyle compilation, my main goal is to feature only the best of what our music has to offer. In most cases, I use only the Hard-To-Find, rare Freestyle songs that have never been commercially available on CD. I know there are lot of Freestyle fans that have been desperately looking for a lot of these songs but have never been able to find them.

Just to give you an idea, I am talking about songs like "SHATTERED DREAMS" by Apache Feliciano, "TELL ME (THAT I'M DREAMING)" by Mimi, "ANOTHER LOVER" by Remy, "IF YOU DON'T KNOW" by Internal Affairs, "WHY DID YOU DO ME WRONG" by Inferno - just to name a few.

Someone commented to me a while back that no one will be interested in these CDs because they feature material that is widely unfamiliar to alot of people. Insisting that I should be focusing on the more popular Freestyle that has already been covered a countless number times of on a million and one commercially avaiable compilations. I don't think we really need another compilation that features Lil' Suzy, Stevie B., Nice & Wild, Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam, Noel, Sweet Sensantion, Cynthia & Johnny, etc...

As a Freestyle fan what type of Freestyle are you looking for? The Hard-To-Find songs that you have heard about but not necessarily have ever heard or would you prefer another CD featuring the same old same old???

im a hardcore freestyle fan...but to be hinest i already have all those famous songs...they are east to find and are basically in every compilation...i dont havea big freestyle collection...(bout 70 cds)...but wats makin it hard is the fact i cant find cds/compilations with enuff music that i dont have...so as hardcore fan...fard to find compilations is for me...for other freestyle fans who arent into it as much as i am....a lil mix of both would be better...P.

Yeah I would have to say I would go with a new school comp. IM tired of the same old school jams that are on every CD comp. So even though Rhoq did not give the choice of a new school comp that is what I would pick. In my opinion there are plenty of quality new school songs out there.

K this sounds very interesting. Do any copies exist outside of the original demo tape?

Also, Nick I see your point with the New School stuff. Some of the new school is available either as a single or as part of a compilation. The unfortunate thing about New School releases is that they are widely distributed as MP3s on the internet almost killing their chances for actual sales.

I'm definitely feeling the new school stuff....theres a bunch that have gotten airplay that i want, but i don't like the kind of compilation or mix where the in the middle of the song the next one starts...i like the entire song

Hey thanks Freestyle chulo IM almost done with recording the album only one more song to go as soon as we are done I will have some info posted for everyone and thank you for your support. Rhoq you are 100% rite about the mp3 its really bad for us rite now. Iv had people IM me asking if I would sign a Cdr. of my music that they down loaded from a site or got from someone on line LOL, and then they asked if I would make them a copy of my music and send it to them because they did not want to purchase it 'LMAO". It seems a lot of fanz don't know the real meaning of supporting freestyle you need to buy the CD's not get Mp3 but this is an old topic and the truth is there is nothing we can do about it. Now I personally would love to hear the version KL is talking about I heard about it before but I was under the impression that only 2 people had it and that was the producer who I cant recall the name and Mark Anthony if there is any way K can get us the song that would be Awesome.
Oh and K good luck with what ever path you choose to take musically and in life.
Laterz.....

Hey K, I got the vinyl of Louder Than Love (w/ Is It Love on the other side) that come out of France (1991). Any reason in particular that these songs weren't released as 12" singles? (the France one is a bootleg).

Anthony, I have the same "Tee-Kay-A" bootleg on Anais Records (France).

Side A features the the full length (album) version of LOUDER THAN LOVE and Side B has the Extended Version of IS IT LOVE (with the rap in the middle) that was featured on Tony Moran's unreleased album.

LOUDER THAN LOVE actually was released as a single, but not on 12" vinyl. From what I remember it was released only as a cassette single with the radio edit and instrumental.

rhoq,

I d like both. Some of the hard to get material old school or and the new school Like ,Nick Colon , NU image Alex of LN, Poze, Marisol,Synthia Figueroa,Vocal Image , Angel Mena ,

Hard to find and new school! :yeey

Soon as I get my funds together Rhoq...you'll be getting my order! 😛

I picked Hard-To-Find 🙂 I listen to all that rare stuff...Nick Colon quoted this awhile back that thats all I listen to LOL 😛

rhoq u know i would want the rare stuff
anthony always sends me rare mixes that i cherish...
anyway i heard u might be selling cds at pats
so if i go ther i want rare stuff
but i'm not the average freestyle fan
all the people who want the rare stuff are rare themselves
so the question is do u want to make money or do u want to make the few true freestyle fans happy.....well the answer is a no brainer u want to make money so either way u have to make some commercial mixes to bring in the dough...ya know
