i had to go with the p.r. bass! i know a lotta people say its played but when u get a power voice over an energetic bass beat...the sound is irresistable! i also think it is the future of freestyle since it can appeal to more audiences besides freestyle fans.

yeah, of course, freestyle is hot period! but usually there's a particular sound that u feel most. i just feel like that bass sound will never die or sound dated. i mean songs like:

"first true love" '89
"take me in your arms" '92
"passion" '96
"running" '85
"i've been thinking about you" '93

and "planet rock" ('82) itself, could be released to this day and u couldnt really tell that some of this stuff was released 10 or even almost 20 years ago!

of course being from Queens, the new york old school sound follows. those songs i listed are 3 of my abosolute favorite ny old school freestyle tracks!

just wanted to comment, this poll is cool and all, but with like 90% of the people on here from NYC, there's no doubt NYC freestyle will win. not just from hometown pride or whatever, but because of what you have been exposed to.
